I'm running a Kenwood X998 HU. I've had it about a year and I have zero complaints with the unit. I would suggest getting a rain shield too. I'm using a V-Twin audio rain shield. It's a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it.

I'm using a SS 4.520 amp. With all Class D amps you run the risk of losing FM reception. I use BT exclusively, so the potential loss of FM reception wasn't a deal breaker for me. Soundstream has recently put out a new amp, the 4.1000D, that puts out 140 watts per channel at 4 ohm. I ordered mine this week!
