Evening all.

I know there are alot of threads about the "HD Heritage Style Bar" 56902-08 both good and bad. However the biggest negative seems to be hand placement.

I am looking at the Khromewerks Stretch Heritage style bar 300043. It says 2" more pullback over Heritage Style.

Anyone ever compare the 2 or have changed or used the Kromewerks +2 (Not the sweeper style.

Thanks

Well did some additional homework and called Khrome Werks. I must say they have some great customer service and answered all my questions. My biggest issue was having that slight more pullback (rise) and that the grips would feel "natural" The CS rep, catogorized the feel of the grip area much like the Road King High Bars. (Which I had on my 06 RKC) and loved the feel. Great control and could really push the twisties.

Well pulled the trigger on the Khrome Werks 300043 Heritage Stretch Bars. Bars and a set of Avon Cusion Grips are on the way.

Now the wait and then the great Tutorials here to install them. From reading I think a 6 pack of Blue Moon and a 5 cigs should do the trick.

I'm anxious to see the finished product on your ride. I have wanted to change my stock '11 RGU bars for quite a while, but have gone back and forth as to what to get (heritage, mini-apes, whatever). Please post pics when finished (and let us know how they feel/ride; and how tall are you. I'm 6-02 and want a comfortable and relaxed reach that's pulled back from stock). Is the wiring internal? Do you need to get new cables?

Subscribing too! I hated the stock bars on my 2011 Ultra, so I put Heritage bars on it, while it is better, still not enough. Would like some measurements to please.

Let me see what I can answer now

The Khrome Werk bar I bought was # 300043 Stretched Heritage Bar. It is basicly the same bar as the HD Heritage Style Bar except the following.

1.3" more rise and 2" more pullback and .4" less tip to tip. CS at Khrome Werks said the wrist angle is much more "natural" then the Stock RG bars that are more like the position of drag bars.

The Khrome Werk Bar is 1" and drilled for TBW/ETC It is dimpled for attaching cables to the outside of the bar however the Customer Service rep stated it is not designed for internal wiring however he said some have internally wired 1" Khrome werk's Bars. They make an identical Bar in 1 1/4 that is set up for internal wiring. NO cable changes are required either with these bars.

I hav my stick bars "rolled back" to its furthest point without hitting my tank on turns. I believe the change in wrist position and the 3" extra pullback and rise will help in a huge way.

I am 5'8" 31" inseam I am not sure of my arm length however I wear 33" arm length dress shirts if that helps. Since my Ride is a 2012 RG Ultra with a stock seat I read that I sit about 1" higher then the stock seat on RGC.

I purchased the bars from Phat Performance for $59.00 and Avon Cusion Grips for $61.00 and shipping with insurance was $19.00 so for $140 bucks I am ahead of the game.

I will post pics of my install and compare the bars with stock. I am hoping to get this done within the next couple of weeks before I am off for a 3K vaction playing in the South in Oct.

I'm subscribed, I installed heritage type bars on my RGU but still seem to be reaching for bars. Also looking at Stretch Bars. Looking forward to future posts and pics. Is it for sure that u can use stock cables and throttle sensor? that would make things a lot easier for a self install.

Thank you Tim.

Your post is what actually drew me to the Khrome Werk "Stretch" Heritage Bars. They are scheduled to be delivered on Friday 8/3 and with any luck I will have time over the next week after work to do the install. I also bought a set of Avon Cusion Grips and also waiting on a de-catted head pipe.

Gee it may be a busy week. BTW I could not find in my manual the tork specs on the handlebar bolts. Do yu know those off hand?

Thanks again for the tip on the =2 Heritage Bars.

What a Difference!

Well the new Khrome Werks Heritage Stretch Bars on on! Great thank you to forum member who came by to assist. 3 hours start to finish.

I have not had a chance to ride however here are my first impressions. They are well made and the Chrome is quite nice.

1. These bars are at least 3 inches taller then the stock with at least 2 inches more pullback. I have them slightly tilted back from the fork angle.

2. They have a much more natural hand position and they are about 1" wider tip to tip and slightly wider at the base.

Oh and BTW. Everything went without a hitch and Bill will atest to this. I got the fairing on in a matter of 2 minutes and without removing the headlight. I call this dumb luck!!!!!

Well took my first ride with the bars,,,,, WOW is all I can say. Much more strait up position and relaxed arm position. I actually feel like I can control the bike and not feling like I am pushing into the turns. Not to mention the relaxed feeling in my shoulders and lower back. I may actually tweek them just alittle forward to bring my ups up just a tad. We shall see. Here are some pictues of the stock vs and before and after pcis.

Well maybe 1.5 to get it on and 30 seconds to scratch my head in disbelief after reading the horror stories of fairing replacements. :D
