All my riding friends were all busy with their own stuff and I wasn't staying home. Wife wasn't feeling too well so I headed out by myself. Destination Cooke City, MT for lunch. It was a balmy 39 degrees on top but the sun was shining ever so bright. I rode at my own pace, some times slow, sometimes not! The Pass never disappoints!

I envy you. I've been up there a few times and you are correct....it never disappoints. I've been to Cooke City once. That is a cool little town. It would be so cool to live up there, but our winters are bad enough. I don't know if I could deal with yours. I often thought how nice it'd be to be able to leave the house and do a day ride thru the mountains, and be back home again at night.

Wow, in September you had it better than me on August 4th. We rode it, it rained, it hailed, it snowed a little and from half way up to over the other side toward Red Lodge it was as low as 35 degrees and mixed with fog so thick you couldn't see 10 bike lengths in front of you. I've been over that beautiful pass at least 8 times and have seen every kind of weather known to man. Thanks for sharing the great pics of what I missed this year, lol.

Road Trip

Hey from Great Falls, EffenGlide! Sounds like a good time. I've driven that route but never ridden it. If we get down that way I'll look you up for a guided tour! LOL:grin:

The weather can can very fast in any mountain range. One rider was killed this year when he was caught in a ice storm on top. Lost control of his bike with wife on the back. Once you are on top there is no place for refuge.

Anytime EODHOG! Or anyone else that needs suggestions. I love to show it to them. There is so many roads to ride besides the Beartooths. Nearby Big Horn Mountain range is a close trip too. Planning on riding there before winter comes also.
