Time to get this years thread going !

Our crew is again split between a few sites. Near strip housing, and at the NASWA. But, with over 20 people, it's to be expected.

I haven't had a lot of time to look at the events and changes. More on that "stuff" later.

There are some different concerts at the nearby NH Pavilion. Including ZZ Top, after the rally on the 22nd. A link to their web site for details and tickets, is a few posts down.

MT Washington Bike only days are Monday and Thursday.

Post if you are planning to attend the rally, and anticipated days.

Anyone that is local, let us know about bad condition roads, that have been re-paved. If you do this June 1st, it would be awesome !!!

DJMan and I will figure out a meet and greet.

Our crew wasn't that interested. But, NH Pavilion added a second night for Dave Mathews during Bike Week. A few others shows might be of interest:

Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion Tickets and Seating chart

Meredith Harley-Davidson is always a "must" stop, at least for anyone on this site ! They have posted up their plans:

https://www.laconiaharley.com/bikeweek

Tower Hill Tavern's Facebook has announced two acts. But, their Web Page is down. Manchuka's site says they are playing there on Thursday the 14th. (my favorite act that plays Bike Week)

For the most part, not much is posted yet from the various live act venues. I looked at Broken Spoke, Patio Garden, Bentley's. As it's still March, and I am going skiing this week, it kinda makes sense.....

More in April !!

I'll assist you with the road reports- right now there are a lot of them in poor condition but the NH crew does a good job in getting them in shape - Rally News was just sent out - if you have not received a copy you can get one by signing up on Laconia Motorcycle Week® - I belong to the HOG chapter / Laconia Harley - we are having our first Bike Week meeting April 8th - any major changes I will let you know - anything else I can help with let me know......

Laconia, thanks for your help !

The many that view this thread will especially appreciate the road condition updates. Certainly too early now, as the real damage is done this month as the ground freeze leaves us.

I agree that the NH crews do an awesome job. But, are limited by their budgets. Some roads I have been waiting on for years...... 109A north from Wolfeboro. 171 from Rt 16 past Castle in the Clouds and north. Sections on RT 153 Sections of RT 175 and 175A RT 112 west of Lincoln. Maybe in my lifetime -- Hurricane Mtn Rd.

I'm still checking sites for Music act announcements. But, not much yet. Spoke, Tower Hill, and Patio Garden all still showing 2017.

Paradise is posted. Wednesday thru Saturday looks strong. Tigerlilly is a favorite of some of our crew.

The Weirs site, that posts some of the Vendors, has their list up. Seems about the same. But, they list the strip and waterslide spots. Not the drive in / lobster pound.

The Meredith HD site seems complete. Bands, DJ's, Vendors all listed. If you have not seen it, the vendors are in their lot, and up above in the Turkey Farm lot. Be mindful, that HD serves as the Vance and Hines vendor themselves. Installing on site, decent value in the past. Also, the Turkey Farm has a good breakfast buffet, and a great turkey lunch. Not cheap, but still a decent value.

Which brings to mind, I have never really covered "breakfasts" at Bike Week. There are some good ones. I will try and do that in the coming weeks. But, anyone that has one, post it up.

AS I type, 50 days away !

29 Days to go !

Updates:

==========
Music Line-ups still not posted for Broken Spoke, Tower Hill, Patio Garden Marketplace, and the temporary Laconia Road House.

As the rally shifts away from "Vendor" driven, to Music as a key attraction, this is at the very least a disappointment. Possibly, a bit disrespectful to the many local Day Trippers, that have to choose days off in advance, that base their choices on a particular band or style of music.

My Favorite is Manchuka. Looking at their web site, they will be playing:

Sunday June 10 Patio Gardens, Weir's Beach 12:30-6

Thursday June 14th Tower Hill Tavern ( this should be evening)

================

New Hampshire Motor Speedway with an increasing presence during Bike Week. Situated 30-40 minutes south of downtown Laconia.

Swap Meet first Weekend. Vendors and Demo Rides starting Monday (they come over from Americade in Lake George).
Music starting Thursday. Stunt Show on Thursday. Races too ! Check out their web site for details.

================

Gunstock Recreation area, about 15 minutes south of Weirs Beach, is hosting the Hill Climb on Wednesday 6-13. $20. No coolers, but they do sell adult beverage on site. Also, Zip Line and Mountain Coaster on site - possibly open more that that one day. I love these attractions !

============
If you are one of the people heading up solo, or in a small group and are looking for things to do, the Official web page has events that may interest you. Check out the Facebook page as well. Some extra events get posted there.

Awesome you have the full week!
Don't know your planned route. But, a lot on NY thruway into Albany is open and sweeping. One can fly along. After Albany, Rt 100 across VT into NH is a nice ride. Stay back roads to Tilton. Be careful to stay within in town speed limits. More later !

I updated the post back on page one, with the Whiskey Barrel line up for the week.

Tower Hill has at least some of the band schedule on their Facebook Page. I sent them a note, asking for the whole lineup to be posted to their Web site.

Sat 6/9 - Kiss Tribute band, Sunday 6/10 British Invasion 3 bands, starting at 3pm. Mon 6/11 Exit 21. Tues 6/12 Riley Parkhurst Project. Weds 6/13 AXIS NH Band.

Thats the best I had time to do. Manhcuka site says they are playing there Thursday.

========================
Breakfast places during Bike Week !

Union Diner, in Lakeport area. RT 3 from the airport, just after Shaw's, the Union Diner is on the left. Great food. Busy.

Cafe DeJavu 311 Court St, Laconia, NH 03246 cafedejavunh.com Went here multiple times a year in the past. Not busy after 9am. Good size portions.

Turkey Farm, next to Laconia Harley. Good Buffett. Not cheap, but plenty of seating. A good place to park and then walk their lot, and HD's lot.

Please add your places !!!

Hey all,
I have the week of June 11-15 off from work and have never been to Laconia so am thinking about doing a loop trip through Maine and then hitting Laconia for a day or two on the way back south. Are there campgrounds where someone can just "show up" with a tent and get a place to stay? Recommendations on good ones?
Alternatively, if folks have a house and would be willing to let me set up in the yard for a night or two i would chip in some money or beer!
Appreciate any info folks have.
Cheers!

Road update - Main roads are all in decent shape, 104, 3, 106, 16 (has some rough areas in the north), 25, 10, 11, 2, all OK - have some issues on 109, 113 is very rough in spots, 175 is rough - 16 through center Conway is rough - 153 is rough in spots - 302 is in good shape - the crews are out so improvements happen daily - if you are planning on a specific ride and want information stop in Laconia Harley, the Local HOG chapter has a booth on the right at the main entrance, we are not a chapter that rides to a coffee shop and home, the average weekly ride is 200 miles so they know the area and the roads, more than willing to tell you where to go :) As it stands I'll be working the Demo trailer Wednesday (I'll be the one telling them if they want the best ride to take the Road Glide :) ...) - Other members will be leading the Mt Washington Ride on Thursday, as well as a bunch of others - they are local guys that know the area so again if you see the Winnipesaukee HOG 2529 Patch - need information don't hesitate to ask them......

Thanks for the update Laconia !!!!

I am interested in Rt 118. I know parts were re-done a few years ago. Interest is from Rt 4 to Rt 25, then the Rt 25 to Rt 112 section. I did this second part probably in 2014. Awesome twisty, but was in less than good shape then.

===================
Patio Garden music schedule now posted. Nice smaller outdoor venues. Easy to get beverages and seats. Sound not too loud. At the very least, I will be there Sunday afternoon for Manchuka !

Glad you are visiting !

As Bike Week is a bit pre-season for summer tourists, except for the immediate Weirs area, you should have no problems getting a campground tent spot. For the Weirs area, the two weekends could be a problem. Although I don't follow camp ground availability, I would suggest searching that out, and making a reservation in advance for those days.

Edit- I just noticed that the Hill Climb at Gunstock promo mentions camping on site. I would contact them, see what they got. 20 minutes from Weirs.

Update: 12 Days to go !!!

I asked Tower Hill to post their lineup to their web site. They sent me a text of the line-up. Which I can't copy and paste here. That was a week ago. Best I can say, is they have music all week, and use their Facebook, or send them a text.

Broken Spoke music lineup is posted, link below. A bit more than years past, of the same people over and over. I give them points for the other New Events they are running. But, I like to see different acts. Personally, I hate parking in the woods, dirt, rocks, and roots. But, this is a favorite spot for many in our crew. If it's raining during the afternoon, we are probably on the porch.....
It's my round, can I have 10 BL, 3 CL, 2 Heavies, 1 ML, 1 Angry O, and 2 Chickalobes.....
