I've got a Tallboy on my '13 RG Custom now, but have heard some good things about the LePera Maverick DDLL. The Tallboy is "OK" for me (I'm 6'5" and 275 lbs), but during a recent 1500 mile trip it got to where I could only ride 4-5 hours before the pain set it...specifically on the back of my thigh/ass joint where the edge of the seat belt like it was cutting into me.
By the end of the day I was hurtin'......

Anyone have experience with both seats? If so, any input would be appreciated. BTW...for those of you who may recommend an AirHawk...got one already, but would rather not have to use it if possible.

Thx!!

I picked up the Bike had the Tall Boy put on it so I could ride it home - 6'5" 276 - I it had less than four hundred miles on it when I went back to Lepera, Hated the Tall Boy - I sold the Tall Boy for 300 to get rid of it - I get the Daddy Long Legs with the Gel insert & back rest - I can go all day with comfort - I'll only buy the Lepera or Mustang super tour - both set you back, - both have the back rest built into the seat rather than using an attached bracket like HD - Lepera will add the Gel and to me looks a lot nicer on the RGS....

I agree 100% with Laconia, I'm not that big a guy at 6'1" 215 but I've had the HD seats and LePera's on last couple bikes and the LePera is hands down is the best fit, finish and comfort I've had.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Question....does the gel insert make that big of a difference? I've had it on a couple of other bikes (not LePera seats, just seats with gel inserts) and I really didn't care for or notice that much of a difference.....

I like the gel in mine, but I wouldn’t recommend the gel if you live in a location like Las Vegas, it gets super hot & burns your butt. My LePera is leather & the leather was warm but not hot to the touch. The gel is firm but not as firm as a Corbin.

I live in Texas, so I think I will pass on the gel insert! Thanks!

Newbie here as well and hoping to pick up some wisdom from those who have gone before me. Have a custom LePera on my FXDWG and love it... Just picked up a '10 RGC and am in the process of making it mine, as the stock set up sucks.. at 6'0" and 250, I need to get lower and back, but most importantly, need mama to be comfortable because if she is not, I surely won't be... Like what I see about the DDLL and was wondering if anyone had passenger comfort info on that seat? Any help would be appreciated!

If "mama" is bigger, then unfortunately the DLL does not provide much room for the passenger. The passenger pillion is probably wide enough, but front to back it is shorter due to the driver's adjusted position. The other factor is you may not be able to use the backrest with a passenger. I know for us, the Le Pera backrest is too wide for my wife to comfortably sit (it digs into her legs). This really is not a problem for either of us though, as we remove the backrest when we go on rides together. She is closer to me, so she becomes my backrest. It's also a lot easier for both of us to get on/off the bike.

I'm 6'3", 265 and my wife is 5'7", 165 and she is plenty comfortable on the seat. I've thought of getting one of the Kuryakyn Adjustable Tour Pak brackets, but then there would be a gap between the back of the seat and the TP. Wife and I both agree that it would probably not be very comfortable or worth it, so we're happy with it as is... plus I get nice "airbag support" ;)

Thanks, Macabra11... that definitely helps!
