Guys any idea on what brand I can buy to get away from ezpass cameras? There's a lot of options on Amazon but I don't know which one is good and which one is junk. Any suggestions based on experience of the products? I will also be putting on a set on my cars too.

Tolls are probably the most fair way to pay for maintenance on roads. Only those that actually use that road/bridge/tunnel are charged for maintaining it. People that don’t use it, don’t pay. It’s about as fair and non liberal as you can get. So no, those paying aren’t suckers, they are paying for what they utilize. That’s called being responsible. You seem to want others to pay for you to use these roads. Are you also so selfish you also think we should buy your gas? Time to grow up, pal. You’re not Peter Pan.

I agree to a point. But nobody wants to get raped every time they use the road. I. PA, its going to be 30% cheaper if you have the easy pass. Its still crazy expensive to go two booths! Let along across the way. My SIL live north of Harrisburg and its close to $20 each way now. The road sucks too.

here in the houston area the sam houston tollway only cost on average about .15c a mile. use it all the time to keep from having to ride thru downtown freeway traffic. if the rates were like the norht east i would always use back roads

the ezpass device we use in texas has no battery it's a passive sticker on the windshield that gets hit by signal from toll gate. you never have to replace it and constables sit at random gates waiting for signal of no sticker to pop up on their incar devices to pull you over.

And I thought this was a thread about where to out the ezpass.....

Lol

PA should get with the program and get rid if the ez pass thingy and just have license plates in file. What they are doing now.... dumb...

Remember when living in NY where there are tolls left and right and trying to figure out where to mount this big ugly ez pass transponder onto bike. Stupid lol. We pay taxes, no need for tolls!

I would like to think we, the people, could elect folks that don't allow toll roads?? There is already taxes paid on fuel and down states, with registration costs, all taxes, yet many sit and allow then either want to whine about it or worse, break a law that only exists due to toll roads...damn it's mind boggling.

Everytime they talk that crap here in AZ it's sent back. Like the red light cameras, some cities are still in violation of state constitution but the state had to take that violation off our freeway's. We, the government can't send tickets in the mail saying our fellow citizens ran a red light or committed any other crime, hell, that's in the US Constitution.

Why do we do this? (I don't, but I am one man)

Vote wisely.

Its actually headed the other way. Vir. has limo lanes on the interstate, where you pay for the privilege of not sitting in the traffic back ups. And MD is looking at doing the same thing, cept they aren't going to build new lanes. They want to switch the HOV lanes over to limo lanes and charge people to use them. Frederic to DC beltway would be about $50 for a 28 mile run.

When I make my trips up north to our neighbors in Canada I pass through Illinois. That State seems to have toll collection sites every couple miles. Fucking ridiculous but I pay to play if I want to go to Canada. I’m sure I could find other routes but 32 hours one way is enough highway time for me. If you don’t want to pay the tolls don’t go or find toll free routes. Might take you longer to get there, but you wouldn’t be freeloading on everyone else’s dime. Just saying.....

the tolls stay because here in houston they never fully finish the roadway, by the time construction ends the area has too many people and they have to build it bigger, the freeway from houston to galveston has gone from 3 lanes each way to 6 lanes each way and was great for first couple months, they are only half way to the island and it's already gettin busy. the HOV lanes are open for motorcycles for free all the time and cars with ezpass can use them for a price. closer to rush hour the higher the price max i think is $5 from downtown to nasa pkwy. about 30mi.

A vast majority of toll roads were paid for by everyone's taxes, stop fooling yourselves. The money collected is still augmented by everyone's taxes to maintain these roads but a majority of collected collected monies go into people's pockets. They, toll roads, are wrong. But y'all do you.

And the words fair and liberal are synonymous.

Nothing's fair. Suck it up!

They were also taking about making route 80 a toll road for a while.

Is going to come to a point that nobody will use it. The news shows that some large trucking companies own 100K or more to the government for past due tolls. They are not going after them at all (or if they are you dont hear anything about it.)

If tolls are required for motorists instead of using taxes for maintaining roads, then why should a person who never uses mass transit and only commutes with own vehicle have to pay high taxes to cover cost of running mass transit system maintaining commuter buses, trains/subway etc. Why should a person who has no kids have to pay high taxes to cover schools and education system etc. Kinda works both ways lol

Here in CT they've been pushing for toll's for the last five years or so. Thankfully it keeps getting shot down. We are one of the smallest states in the country and they proposed almost 60 toll gantry's on every major artery except the 2 that happen the direct you to our 2 casino's. It was estimated to cost the average commuter on average about $900. per year just for people to drive to work. I am fully against toll's because we already have one of the highest gas taxes in the country, highest property tax, highest vehicle registration "fees" and the state has made poor and very expensive state employee union deals. CT is one of the most mismanaged states in the country. I try to avoid toll roads everytime I leave this state but sometimes it's unavoidable. Good luck
