Well one of my HD "B" lifters finally went out, the bearings on the roller on the rear cylinder intake lifter was the problem.
Replaced all 4 of the lifters with Melling JB-2079 lifters from Autozone at a cost of $47 for all 4 lifters.
As mentioned before there is NO difference between the HD lifters and the Chevy lifters and the bike runs just fine with the new Melling lifters.

If there's no difference, I hope the new ones last as long or longer.:D

How many miles were on the stock ones?

The lifters I just replaced are the original lifters that came with the bike in 2008, there was only 1 lifter that went bad the other 3 seem to be fine. There is about 75,000 +/- miles on these lifters, I did pull them once and put in SE lifters but they started to bleed off with around 10,000 miles on them so I put the original "B" lifters back in.
It will be interesting to see how long the Melling lifters last.

Did you swap out the top cup in the lifters or run them as they are? Are you still happy with them?
No I didn't and the lifters are performing just fine. Very happy with them so far

FYI- I just measured a Melling vs the B lifter. The pushrod oil feed hole in the "cups" is only .077" vs .112" in the B lifter. I'd be a little worried about starving the top end of oil.

Getting plenty of oil in the top end the bike runs quiet and there is no performance issues.

Just updating this post all is good with the Melling lifters
