Hello all,

I was at the dealer today gettin' some recall work done on my 17' RGS. I'm quick approaching my 1K service and happened to notice they want $600 plus labor for a 1K service. I was wondering if anyone would happen to know or have a checklist applicable to my model year bike so I can see about preforming the service myself or if I should just bite the bullet and pay up. All help is much appreciated!

The owners manual has the service requirements up to 100,000 miles. Purchase a service manual for your bike to help you understand the how and why's to servicing your bike. Changing your fluids is easy and will save you hundreds compared to the dealer

That's what I was thinking as well, I have tools and a jack plus a fairly adept understanding of servicing bikes. Just want to make sure its nothing special. What's the best place to buy the service manual? Dealership?
