If I wanted to back myself up on, say putting new handlebars on, (wiring controls, etc.), do I need the service manual and the electrical diagnostics manual?

Thanks

Do you need the manual to do a bar swap? No, it's pretty straight forward.

Do you need a service manual for other stuff? Yup. It's the first accessory I buy with every new bike...

Should be fine with just the service manual and all the threads on here.

I didnt consult my manual once. but read donks thread on handle bar swap 4 times worked like a charm...practice putting your ignition in and out only takes 1 minute and people forget how to put it back in after the 8 hr bar swap.

I didn't look at the service manual once when swapping my bars. Didn't take the ignition switch off either.

Having said that, I have lost count of how many times I have used the service manual doing other work on my bike.

I guess my question was......Does the service manual also have schematics in it or does one have to have the electrical diagnostic manual as well?

2013 FLTRX

Thanks
