I got the heated grips installed Friday on my 2010 RGC and rode 300 miles over the weekend in temperatures from the high 30's to low 60's. They make a great difference and no more freezing fingers. I am sure they will extend my riding season as winter quickly approaches.:D

Gotta love that... I had a chance to pick some up but since I had JUST installed my bars and didn't want to go through the pain of taking them apart again, I opted not to install. A little envy goin on here.

Plus One!

I thought I had no use for heated grips in Southern Nevada either, until I found myself setting at lights with my fingers wrapped around the rear head trying to thaw my fingertips...

I absolutely love my heated grips! Initially, I was hesitant as I didn't see how they would do any good, just keeping your palms warm. Man, was I ever wrong! Heat the palm, and the inside of the glove stays warm... I go all winter with just a thin pair of gauntlet gloves to keep the wind from blowing up my sleeve.

Only time I got a little cold was last winter riding the freeway for an hour, and then it was only my thumb tips. It was 20-25* that night, so you true polar riders may have different experiences.

The nicest thing about them is they always there. No cords to run down your sleeve, nothing to plug in, and nothing to forget at home.

Which model did you use for your heated grips? I'm definitely going to look at installing some for my ride also. I got the HippoHands to tie me over for now..but would like to compliment them with the Heated Grips also.

I've read lots of horror stories about the quality of the H-D heated grips. I'm going to order some of these and give them a whirl. The reviews look great and for $40 it's cheaper than a set of winter gloves.

I have been looking at the pollyheaters and the heat demons. Both are mounted internally in the bars. Heat demons state they make a model for the TBW but on another post someone replied he had the heritage bars and had trouble installing the heat demons. I would love any feedabcl from someone who has installed either of these in a new TBW handlebar. I know too many people who while they love their Harley heated grips they also complain about problems.

I went a year and a half on my 2006 work bike until I mile'd it out, and have the same time on my 2009. I had to buy new grips for the 09 due to the throttle-by-wire change.

Both bikes are ridden 40+ hours a week, 50 weeks a year. I haven't had a failure yet, and these bikes have a very rough life. I talked to a tech at the dealer about grip failures, and he said most are caused during installation, when the left grip is forced on the bar too hard and too far, and with too much twisting.

Just my experience, others may differ...

i have the heat demon in the Heritage bars for Touring. They are outstanding! The heat is strong enough to go through my cold weather gloves at medium setting. Great price too.
