I got my bike back from the shop after installing Tire Shredder. They let the battery run down apparently and I now have an error message:

V INERR

In the odometer display. Also have steady ABS lite on. I charged the battery and voltage looks good under load, so why does message not clear? Anyone have this issue before?

I tried to lock the back tire while riding and ABS kicked in so it is still active.

Thanks

Take it back to the shop that did the work and have them clear the DTC's and see if the DTC's come back.

i think thats vin error

of its a Rushmore bike they ECU and odometer are linked..... if they swapped the eco it will cause the VINERR

Just replaced my Gauges on my 2015 and was warned of this issue.

hopefully that helps good luck resolving your problems

Well......I came across this, as I was searching because I have the V INERR code showing up on the first start on a cold motor. I was hoping the V is volts and not Vin. Orginal battery from bike built Nov 14. Nothing with the computer or speedo has been touched. Guess I'll order a battery and go from there

VINERR typically comes from low battery voltage and the ECM doesn't "see" all the modules correctly. You can perform the WOW test and clear any DTCs you have and see if they come back. A good charge of your battery or replacing it should clear that from your odometer display field.

The ABS light being on will happen whenever a bike is run on a dyno. The computer freaks out becausem, according to the wheel speed sensors, the front wheel isn't moving but the rear wheel is. That will cause a historic could of an ABS problem when no problem actually exists.

FYI I also have been getting the VINERROR also & I know it’s due to the battery. Only occurs on cold days & has a sluggish crank over when starting. Older battery that needs replaced. Error clears on it own after a couple of minutes once the bike warms up. Waiting until spring to replace battery.

Thanks for the reply, as I was hoping you would see this. I have been in the habit for many years, of plugging in the battery tender as soon as I get off the bike, winter, spring, summer or fall. So my battery is always fully charged. Was out today for a 200 mile lunch ride and I noticed that when cranking the bike, the odometer would go blank, a couple times today.

Ordered a new battery this morning and a few fob batteries. Tracking shows it will be delivered tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully this will end

The new battery should take care of your issues.
