Not looking to put a tour pack on my RGS since I don't need it but for my occasional need for space am considering some of the HD soft luggage. Here's my question what rack can I put on my 4 point docking system that I can leave on that's going to look good without the luggage but will do the job when needed
Thanks

Hey there,

This is what I've got. https://www.harley-davidson.com/store/king-detachable-two-up-rack

I had a Stealth rack on my last bike, and while it looked cool, it did not support my luggage well enough on long trips where the bag would sometime shift on sweepers.

Not so with this one. Sure it's bigger, but functions the way I want it to and looks great. The bag sits up higher than on my previous rack, which is a good thing as the bag straps on the lower rack eventually took of the clear coat on the fender.

As it's detachable, I can pop it off easily but rarely do. Yes, a smaller rack may look better the function of this is worth it to me.

I've also got these touring bags and am happy with them. I've had cheaper ones, but not better ones.

Do you already have a passenger backrest? If so this is what I used before adding a TP.

It has the light kit added to it. If you're interested I'll ship it to you for $150.

The thing I love about Harley over the previous bikes I have had is the ability to quickly morph the bike into what you want for the day. Between my Road Glide and Road King I have 5 seat configurations I can use. I can move the tour pack between bikes, passenger backrest, and luggage rack. When riding around town I prefer the solo tour seat alone. When I picked a rack I was more concerned with carrying my luggage than with the look when riding without the luggage so I got

I think it looks fine on the bike when empty, but you be the judge.

Sorry no rear shot. I will have it on the bike when I travel to Cherokee, but it will probably go into the hotel room with the luggage.

I have to agree with you and Arthur previously

look at the king luggage rack on the MoCo site or look at something from motherwell products. the rack can be quickly attached or removed and the only thing that stays on the bike is the docking kit. i can take pics if needed but you should be able to google it and see everything quickly.
