I noticed my windshield gasket was loose a few nights ago and tightened windshield base down as tight as I dared. It still seemed loose. The next time I looked I had lost it. Thinking I will get whistle if I don't replace. I am thinking about stuffing foam tape down in there. Has anyone else had this problem and solved problem?

Grainger well nuts have a thicker head, it keeps Madstad base from touching paint. I use them without a gasket, no whistling.

The super-dooper well nuts from Maadstad have a base that is thicker than the gasket. I tightened the well nuts and pushed the gasket down, onto the fairing after the windshield was installed. Has worked so far and looks good.

In other words, don't trap the gasket either under the windshield or under the screw heads. Let it float and work it down tight agains the fairing.
