Got my Micro tuner on today...bike seems to start faster, smoother AND definitely more responsive to the twist of the throttle. Oh ya de-catted the head pipe too..... I will really take out tomorrow and give a ride and she how she feels over some distance.

Got the same tuner from Fuel Moto and bike runs much cooler. When i discussed what I wanted to do they said this would serve my purpose. Also got their AC in a packaged deal. Great customer service.

God tuner if all you want to do is AC and exhaust mods.

Fuel Moto Micro Tuner

Hey to all, been out riding. LOVE the feel of the removed "cat" and the addition of the tuner....I am sure, presently that my mileage has gone down, But I am enjoying the responsiveness and added power.... And oh ya it is much cooler. Don't know by how much but it was 99 here today and 105-09 (feels like temp) and the right leg had no complaints....THE BEST MOD TO DATE. get rid of the cat and add the Micro Tuner, you won't be sorry. I too went with the Microtuner, can't say enough about it. Bike runs sooooo much cooler, and haven't seen much if any drop in fuel economy. Definitely more power, and no more throttle lag off idle.

De-catted and Micro tuner....

So I have been driving the bike...turning the throttle and having fun for about 80 of the 188 miles on the tank...filled up today and worked out to 40mpg...this IS and in-town improvement.... So I cannot wait til I get out on the freeway for a long drive and see what the hiway mileage really is....all I can say is great so far.....great mods!!!

PS: Got ahold of a heat gauge/gun... difference in temp from cat to no cat (compared on two identical roadglides) 125 degrees cooler on mine....very nice!!!

what about the tuning aspects of the unit.. I mean running cooler is great, but what exactly is the micro tuner.. is it similar to the PCV where ya lift the seat plug it install it, and it has a preinstalled map?

don't get me wrong, running cooler is a great benefit, but by no means an indication that the bike is running optimally.

mpg is a good start.. what about the top end performance when your cruising on 6th gear and need to move and gittyup, is the microtuner setup to account for that added/ needed response on the top end vs the low end .. things like that..

sorry, just that ive had 2 PCV's and althought theyre good units, your left holding a unit that requires a dyno machine to properly tune your sled..

from what I understand the autotune feature allows you to plug it in, and diagnose and tune your bike as your ride it in real time.. taking into account your riding habits, gear values and needed hp on the hi end..

but then again, this is all advertisement on there end.

I'm sorry you're so frustrated but I think your primarily upset by two main points you mentioned.

First:
No two individual Harleys are exactly the same (even if they DO have the same exhaust and intake), every owner has their own preferences, and way too many external physical things even come into play. A "canned" map is really just a best estimate given the modest information that's available.

Indeed, your "requires a dyno machine to properly tune your sled" is completely accurate and it indeed does apply to every single tuner out there if you want to get a perfect tune. There are far too many parameters that need to be perfected and they each interact with one another so a truly good dyno tune specialist is the key if you want perfection.

Even tuners equipped with an auto-tune feature cannot develop that absolutely perfect tune all by themselves but they're definitely the right choice for owners that either want to tweak their own tune themselves or owners that are perfectly satisfied with a safe and damn close tune that's never going to need any manual tweaking at all (not interested in drag-strip performance).
Second:
Your "...this is all advertisement on there end" isn't correct but I think you're just frustrated. Surely you can't reach this conclusion when so many other owners and pro racers disagree with you so I'll just say what I already said once more...
I'm sorry you're so frustrated.

Sorry I didn't see this until now. The Micro tuner is a simple fuel tuner (don't know what else to call it) Fuel Moto will "tune it" with your requirements as in what changes you have done to your bike. In my case all I have done is remove the "cat" and add a K&N airfilter. No cams, different muffler any of that stuff. Not chasing HP or Torque, just want a cooler running more efficient bike. And I now have that, my bike is 125 degrees cooler than my riding bodies identical bike with no changes (measured where the cat is/was in my case) my mileage has gone from 38ish in town/ 42 on the hiway to consistent 40 in town and 45/47 on the hiway....speed drops the mpg a bit.... It feels like it has more torque and it definitely runs smoother. Not going through; "you need a good tune" to get it right AGAIN!!! What the hell is a good tune, never seems to happen and it's $250-300 a pop.....Oh I missed that the last time lets do it again.....blast away, mine runs and it runs well.....that's all that matters to me.

HEy guys I know I am late to this thread but have a little experience with the microtuner. Installed it a week before a trip to western and SW CO. Removed the baffles and Cat and installed a stage 1 AC. Told Jamie at FuelMoto the mods I was planning and he built the tune. Bike runs more free, cooler and helped with the lean ping at higher elevation. Speed thru the mts. were moderate rarely above 70 but did do some hot rodding. Mileage for the trip was 50MPG. Not bad at all. I love this bike but the tuner made it run. You can spend more money and get on the go capability but, this was a great answer to my needs.
