The wife and I are considering going this year...Milwaukee is only about an hour away, so its an easy trip.

Anyone else going this year? Anyone been past years? Looking for input on what to expect, where to stay, etc.

Thanks,

Toby

Milwaukee rally

I'll be there, but the furthest activity is only about 20 miles from my home.

If your looking for local info, I've lived here for 23 years so ask away.

Thank you, Sir!

I have been to Milwaukee a few times, in fact, we were up to the museum on Saturday. I guess my biggest question is where to stay. We went through some 'questionable' areas right around the museum, and I don't want to stay in one of those.

Looking at the rally website, the places to be are House of Harley, Milwaukee Harley, the fair grounds, and the museum, and then Water Street, for the party. If you could recommend an area somewhat central to those, with decent hotels and minimal gun fire, I'd appreciate it :)

I'm actually wondering how big of an event this will be. I'm really not seeing any chatter about it, anywhere. But, being its only an hour or so away, I don't think I can do all that bad by just showing up.

Hotels

I'd stay out in the Brookfield, Wisconsin area if I were you and visiting for the weekend. No crime, and it's within a mile of Hals Harley Davidson, (one of the sponsoring dealers) and right on the freeway to downtown 94/894.

So your about 15 minutes from anything. There are lots of hotels in the area, Best Western, Fairifeld, Courtyard, etc. and just about any resturant you could want

Any of the travel sites will bring up the hotels avaialble in the Brookfield area (the zip code is 53005) and the room costs.
