Leaving From MN to Colorado end if June. Do you guys recommend any good routes to get there? There really isn't much to see for the first 500 Miles I think. Taking a 10 Day trip and plan on riding off the Super slab as much as possible. Thinking first day I might just pound the slab and get some miles behind me. Looking at the Map not much to see anyways.

Any Idea's? Rodes should be OK in July for Colorado?

Rode through Duluth to Pipestone MN then on to Sturgis/Deadwood SD on my way home to Colorado from SW last year. Good roads and wide open views. Only thing to watch for in Colorado that time of year is wildlife and tourists in cages. Should be an awesome time

We just got Back Last Thursday, on the Road 13 days and threw down 4851 miles. Road most of the Roads highlighted in the HOG book for Colorado, very scenic. Hit Pikes Peak. Bike started missing at about mile Marker 8. Ways up there...Otherwise Shark Ran awesome. Anybody can run 550 in the day and when it is dry, try it when it is down pouring for most most of the day...Think I hit 3 season's that day. Ouray was nice. Hit IO,NE, CO,Utah, WY,SD,MN....First time In Utah, only stayed one day in that state. Man can't even get a real Beer there. Pulled into Rock Springs Wyoming and we just got off the freeway when the Monsoon came thru. Flooded the roads, cars where floating in the parking lot, hotel lobby flooded. But the Bike stayed dry under the awning. Bike used less then Half a quart of oil and we run pretty fast. I did lose a Header Nut, and cost me .51 cents to fix. Cheapest HD fix I have ever had. So you should check those. Ride Safe Peeps, see you in the Ozarks in Sept....Braaaaap

Glad you had a good ride. Rode 550 just last week in the rain. Left Ouray southbound, wet and 43* to start the climb.
There are a couple of good breweries in Utah, just gotta work at it to find them. Much easier here in Colorado, brewery on most corners!

If you detour through Nebraska, the Sandhills are nice... Open prairie and lazy curves along railroad tracks... I enjoyed it coming back from Sturgis a few years back

I live in north central IA near Mason City. I've been out west a bunch. My advice is get on the interstate, drop the hammer and get to CO. Kansas has good roads, Nebraska has some good roads but not much that compares to CO. I understand not wanting to take interstates but they are nice when ya wanna lay done some miles.
Later,
Ray

I did that ride when I was 18 and just out of high school. Camped for a week in the mountains and drank stream water all the time. No bottled water back then😀. Best time!!
