Use it in the engine and primary.

Put Mobil1 75-140 gear oil in my transmission last time.

I have used Mobil1 in all my cars for years. It probably makes no difference, that's just how I do it though...

According to the Mobil 1 web site, they advise that the 15w50 oil can be used in motor applications only.

09/18/2008 Using Mobil 1 15W-50 in Harley-Davidsons
Several independent tests have shown that Mobil 15W-50 is virtually similar to Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 oil. Since Harleys utilize separate oil supplies for the primary and tranny, is there any valid rea...
As long as the primary and tranny are separate sumps and there is no concern for clutch performance, then Mobil 1 15W-50 can be used in a Harley

I hope this helps.....

I didn't notice the "fs" on the jug either. Anybody know what that is?
I could see using the higher number oil in my tranny, I'm kinda cautious about what I would put in my primary.

Read a great comparison in Car Craft ? a while ago. The difference in the V Twin Mobil 1 is a higher Zink content that is good for roller bearings and flat tappet cams, (Meant rockers)as it cushions the contact better. I am using Mobil one in the 2010 as well as my Shovel. In the Shovel it will creep past the oil pump check valve faster than dino oil and fill the sump, big blowout on start up if standing a month or so.

"Virtually similar" is not good enough. The V-twin version has extra goodies for an air cooled engine that help it fight off the demons of extra high heat that all late model Harleys are notorious for. My wife is similar to her sister too, but that don't mean much. One is an angel and the other has a little of puppies following her.

Use the 15w-50 FS now , was using the 20w50 FS VTwin

FWIW I used non "motorsickle specific" oil for a total of 575000 miles in 2 TG's and believe , as do many others , that know way more than me about oils , is a "motorsickle specific oil" is a label that lets them charge twice as much for virtually the same oil

funny, but not entirely true (well, maybe the part about the puppies is). there is not anything 'extra' in the vtwin version vs 15/50. the only extra is that the 15/50 has more friction modifiers in it that make it not the best choice for a wet clutch application. though there are many that use it without issue, it could cause your clutch to slip.
