While I'm waiting for the bars to come in, I've been trying to order a removal tool. There seems to be different sizes. What size do we need for our bike. Thanks folks for the help.

I had luck with the smallest allen wrench in the set, by pushing it in the connector while pulling out the wire. The right tool would be nice though.

A glasses tool kit has a small flat screwdriver blade that works well

A heavy gage needle or a paper clip will work.

I found one, I've ordered this one Generic Harley Molex Terminal Removal Tool Plugs Wiring Dyna Softail Sportster | eBay . Yes I'm anal on having the right tool for the job. It just seems easier having the right s**t. Man getting old sucks.

Is molex the new style connector for 2013 and newer? I just traded in my 2012 road King for a 16 RG. When I did the bars on my road King I just used a paper clip. But I'm told the new bikes have different connectors and hear that they're a pain to remove the wires. So is molex the new or old connectors? If it's the old style, what are the new connectors called?

Thanks!! Do they make a tool for the Deutsche connectors? Molex seems a lot easier then the Deutsche connectors. Why'd they change?

The molex appear smaller. ( haven't mess with them yet ) I here a paperclip will work on both. I'm just anal and like using the right tool for the job. Just something I've picked up over the years doing most of my own work. Things seem to go better having the right tools. That and the fact I'm getting lazier.
