So this Saturday I am installing my standard height monotube on the RGCCVO. I have done alot of reading here and there on the spacer, but most refer to the spacers on the lowered versions. So my question is how many spacers would/should I run and why?

FYI- the guy at Progressive recomended running no spacers, since i only weigh about a buck seventy five.

Im riding a 2011 FLTRX (custom) and using the stock height monotubes now for over 2 years. Im 210 lbs and ride solo most of the time, I also have 940 rear shocks.

When I installed mine I used 1 clip (spacer) the general instruction say to use the 2 supplied but after talking to one of the progressive Techs (Frank) I ended up using only 1 it allows the bike a little SAG maybe 1' for my weight so basicly I als got a little lowering out of the kit over stock. For many riders under 250 lbs the stock suspension does not set up any sag so it is running topped out a lot of the time.

At 175 lbs if you ride solo you could probably be fine with no spacer. The c clip spacer is just a preload and will help set the SAG. If you are talking to Frank at progressive Tech support Id follow his advise he has been very helpful to me on both teh monotubes and the shocks

I agree to follow Progressive suggestions.

The main reason there is so many questions about the spacers using the lowered version, is because the instructions are not clear. So, i called Progressive as well to ask them about the standard and lowered versions in regarding adjustments to the spacers. Because im only 5'6" and weigh 145 pounds i wanted the lowered version.

Progressive told me that with the lowering kit there isn't really any "fine tuning". Its 1" drop or 2" drop.
"With the stock height kit you can do some fine tuning with the preload C- clips. With the lowering set, to drop a full 2" use both springs and no c clips. lowering 1" will be a much nicer ride and you are going to want to add all 3 clips due to running at a lower height."
