Has anyone done the DIY air ride system with the corvette shocks. I am seeing a lot of other forums talking about this and getting it done for around $250. Any input from anyone.

I was gonna do a write up but my computer is down so I'll use my phone. First thing I did was pull my fuel pump fuse, crank it up to get fuel pressure off system, take tank, side covers, seat and fairing off, put the shocks on run lines

To the right of pump is a 30a relay for the pump that I'm running the voltage for the pump straight from battery thru fuse and is activated by Arnott switch

OK, got 99% of the pieces in for this project. Only thing I am waiting on is the CVO 2 way lock switch to come in. I did knock out the bushings and install the poly bushings last night. Plus, mounted the Monroe's and just used the stock set-up to air them up so I could ride to work today.

I am now trying to figure out how to isolate the squelch button (+/-) on the left control cluster. It would be nice to use that switch to control both the air pump and the dump valve instead of the CVO switch mounted in the gauge pod. Anybody on here looked at re-purposing any of those switches?

It should be a 2 way switch so just find out which wire does what and wire it in.

Also can someone post the post # or the detailed parts list for me. Im on my phone and 40 pgs of this would take all night to go through.

All is good so far. No problems at all with the set up.. I just road 4900 miles to SW3 without any issues. I'm pleases with the setup.. I just had to find correct riding pressure that suits me.. Thanks to the gauge, I can go right to the correct number every time. And as for SW3 it was a great experience...

Thinking of doing this myself. Couple of questions. Do you have to bash in the mufflers on an ultra for this shocks to not hit the axle nuts? If so is there any way around it. Can't see denting my brand new cobra pipes. Any way to slide the pipes out to clear or does someone sell limiting straps?

Second how long does it take to air up with the air compressor from empty? What is the highest psi everyone is running? Is 100 psi high enough as I am looking at putting a small air tank in to speed up airing the system up but its rated to 100 psi only.

Thanks

Just got my system hooked up this weekend and it takes approximately 15-20 seconds to air it up from fully down. I would guess using a volume tank at 100 psi would, you would be up in 5-10 seconds (of course the diameter of the supply line from the tank to shocks will make a big difference). These shocks really do not hold that much air volume.

SnowBandit. One way to keep from hitting the exhaust would be to buy limiting straps. You can find them in different lengths by googling them. I found them online ranging from 10-15" in length. Stock Ultra length would be 13".

Also I don't have an answer for you regarding time however I had heard from people that have out air tank systems on their rides but the difference in inflation times are not that different. If only slightly faster I believe but don't quote me. Good luck.
