Has anyone done the DIY air ride system with the corvette shocks. I am seeing a lot of other forums talking about this and getting it done for around $250. Any input from anyone.

My parts started trickling in today. I've got the shocks and the bushings so far.

Do you guys recommend ordering some tubing other then what comes with the shocks? I guess I'll need some 1/4" stuff as the shocks seem to come with 1/8" tubing. Anyone have a source for quality stuff that I won't have to worry about leaking, etc?

+1 on that. The "1/8" air line that came with the monroes i got isnt a true 1/8" line. I used it unknowingly and now i have an air leak somewhere. Ill have to replace the line when i get a chance. Unfortunately theres snow on the ground so im not in any rush :(

I found a good way to make the viair gauge illuminate basically the same color as the stock gauges. I took the light out of the stock air temp gauge, and noticed a amber/orange condom over a regular bulb. If you gently peel the condom off and stick it over the viair bulb it will illuminate the stock color. Its a hair off, but good enough.. lol
Heres some pics.. and a pic of where im mounting my dump valve.. enjoi:D

here is another stupid question that i have:
did yall use a lift or a floor jack for this install?

Im going to go out and get a floor jack, but would really like a lift.

just wondering if any one had had experience with one or the other or none.

You can use just a motorcycle jack. Your gonna have to use a jack with it on a lift anyhow to support the rear while changing out shocks

I have a question for those of you using the Gabriel shocks, how did you get the factory bushings out and then energy suspension bushings in? I can get the sleeves in but there is no way the metal (brass maybe?) inner tube of the energy suspension bushings is going to go in, the fit is insanely tight.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm, ok I will give that a shot. Is that how you got the factory bushings out? I know one side only has the rubber bushing but the other side of the shock has the bushing and insert and that is the side that won't come out. It's figuring to be a PITA... Thanks!

Hey guys I saw some post about the pipes using straps or dent it. I have a few questions about this.

1. Has everyone had to do this?

2. Do you need to dent both sides? or just the right side?

About to pull the trigger on this either way just looking for some info.
Dent both sides. Just make sure you gonna keep your pipes or if you ever sell you have some splaining to do. LOL

Ok guys I got the Gabriel 49304 Hijackers Air Shocks and have a questions about the nipple part where the air line goes in on the shocks. Anyone that has these shocks care to tell me if you turned them in or out? I noticed if they are out they are up against the bag on the right side when you put the bag back on.

I know there was a write-up or photos on how to get those limiter straps. Anyone know where that's at? or even what page on this thread it's on?
