What are the chances that all my push to connect fitting leak?

none of mine leaked, I had a leak where my fitting screwed into my gauge.
before you put the fairing on pump up the shocks and spray some soapy water on all the fittings and connections, it will bubble if theres a leak.
 
Its was operator error :cool:. This is all to me... I originally used the tubing that came with the shocks for my install and all the fittings leak. I swapped out the tubing for the 1/8 OD tubing that I ordered with the fittings and everything seems to work. The switch, gauge, compressor, shocks, dump & Schrader valve all works great. Thx

Nice, good to hear you have it up and running.

When I was pulling my bike apart, I notice the left rear shock boot was ripped and leaking a little oil. I am thinking about do the monroe shock set-up now. Why the hell not, I am already so far into my project the cost of the shock set-up will only be a small blip.
 
With all the air dumped out on a 13 RGC without any lowering blocks, or lowering kit, will the back tire rub the fender, I have read that people with lowering blocks have had this problem, and had to install a smaller tire. I never plan on running it with the air dumped, but a failure in the system at highway speed and a rear tire rub, or lock up would suck. Thanks
 
I broke a line, rubbed against sprocket, tire didn't rub, but it was a hard tail ride to work

tackling this tomorrow. Wish me luck. I just need to get my last little items, i.e. fitting, momentary switch and new 1/8" tubing. Hope all is good, but if it isn't at least I know it's entirely reversible!
 
lost all air

was on a road trip, about 30 miles from home lost all air. rear tire did not rub fender,road like hardtail,thankful i have police air seat.. puled over , checked it out,air line on right shock came out.replaced it but once i aired up it would come off. finally found a indy & he glued it & it held up & got me home.
 
Ok. Just so I'm sure. Here are the fittings I'm getting from Airedup.com. I'm gonna get at least 2 of everything because I always like to have extra on hand just in case.

2 - 1/8" tube to 1/8" NPT Prestolok female connector
2 - 1/8" Tube Prestolok II Union Y Connector
2 - 1/8" OD Prestolok Tube Union Tee
4 - 1/8" Tube to 1/8" NPT Male Elbow Swivel
2 - 1/8" OD Tube to 1/8" NPT Thread Connector

Anything else you can think of? I'm planning on running a Viair 160 PSI gauge also with either a 3 way CVO Momentary switch or another 30+A on/off/on switch.

Other parts include...
Viair 98C 12V Compressor
2 - In-Line ACT water-resistant fuse holder - 10AWG with 30A fuses
2 - Energy suspension 9.9105G 4 bar bushings
Gabriel Hijackers 49304 Air Shocks 2 pack
Viair Black face 2" 160 PSI illuminated air gauge - 90088

I can't find an air dump solenoid that is 1/8" OD exit. Only 1/4" so I think I'm gonna get the 1/4" SMC Solenoid valve and just add in a 1/4"OD to 1/8"OD push to connect fitting for this purpose. Sound ok?

I also want to have a relay on hand so I'm gonna grab the Viair 93940 40A air compressor relay for 12V compressors.

All in all I think I'll have about $60 in fittings and about $230 in the rest of the parts. Hopefully I'm good to go.

You don't need elbow fittings unless you really want to be fancy looking on your install, (save your $). All you need is three "T" fittings, if you're also installing a gauge (or four if you plan on running a schrader valve), Two male fittings for the dump valve (three if you're also installing a gauge). One female fitting (two if you plan on installing a schrader valve). If you get the CVO switch you won't need a relay. I would buy the air tube line from them also, make sure it's 1/8 OD & some thread tape.. This is how I ran mine, except I have Monroe shocks.. 2200 miles on the install with no problems.. Hope it helps..
