Has anyone done the DIY air ride system with the corvette shocks. I am seeing a lot of other forums talking about this and getting it done for around $250. Any input from anyone.

Monroe shocks

I just installed this system last week. I installed my compressor on the left side of the radio. Removed the radio drilled two holes above the radio installed the radio used spacers to keep the bracket off the radio mount screws. Installed a viair air gauge in the ambient temp spot. Use the CVO tour pack switch and mounted it inthe accessory switch spot. I like the ride and the ability to drop the rear when parked. I am going to ake a mount like Arnott shows for the ABS bike and relocate the compressor to the right side behind the saddlebag. A lot less hassle if you ave a problem you don't aveto pull the fairing. Chopped baggers has all the info you need under air ride 101. Good luck.

anyone have a link to the gauge used in the dash to replace the ambient temp gauge?

I am using Arnott's solenoid/dump valve. It started "leaking down" about a week after I installed it through the exhaust muffler. Called Arnott and the rep sent me a breakdown diagram of the solenoid with cleaning instructions. He said they had seen a lot of cases where debris inside the shocks, mine are Billstein (from manufacture) was being introduced into the solenoid and wouldn't let the plunger seat correctly. Disassembled/cleaned/reinstalled in about 20 mins and haven't had a problem since (about 2000 miles). The rep even e-mailed me back a couple days later to follow-up.

Got all my parts and did the install before laughlin ... when I get home I'll shoot some pics of the switch location and my istall. I didn't like it much at first , the shocks were airing up way slow, so I loosened up the fittings going into the shocks and found out I had the lines pushed in too far ... FYI about 3/16" past your O-rings is all you need .... just put 600 miles on the new system on the river run and I LOVE THE RIDE !!!

this is just my thoughts on the MOD ....

I'd say it's a more easily adjustable ride vs. stock. I used to set my oem shocks at about 40 and leave em' alone always used a friends air pump cuz I wasn't willing to buy one knowing I wouldn't keep OEM's. That being said when we ride 2 up the ride was nice but a harsh hit still rattled my teeth and got me smacked in the helmet by the wife.

The air ride gives me the ability to air up on the harsher roads and in the deep twisties ..(I noticed softer air makes you bounce in a sharp curve at speed) and out on the freeway I can air down a little and enjoy the smooth ride.

I also got a thanks from my wife who is only 5'3" cuz I can slam it in the parking lot and she steps off easy.

Can I say its better than stock ... honestly No but it's a cheap way to get a lot of adjustment on the fly. I'm into this mod $300 bucks because I made some upgrades... If I were in the market I'd probably go with progressive 944's lot's of guys in here love em'

as far as looks i love that bagger dragger looks when she's parked and aired down, When I finally get the money to put on stretched bags and fender it'll really complete the looks.

sorry for beating around the bush... I do like the MOD the $ involved and the results ... I'd recommend this to any rider on a budget. aka PUB

I would think riding a cinder block with a axle drilled through it rides better than the FLTRX suspension. So this has got to be better. I can't wait to get mine going.

I have a couple of friends that have it and says it is a lot better than stock. Plus you have the ability to adjust on the fly.

I am waiting for a couple more things to come in and hopefully I will start mine next weekend.

All that have done this already, you using a gauge and if so what kind. I am thinking about running without.
