Just wanted to check a couple things to make sure I have it right.
1) I need to get (4) 1/2" longer bolts for the shocks (Gabriels)
2) I can use two push button momentary switches. One to operate compressor and one to operate dump
Am I wrong on any of this guys?
Thanks as always

I would just run one 3 way switch. Up and down.

Yes i suppose you could run 2 switches but i would recommend one 3 way momentary switch.

Thanks guys. Just for my curiosity, what's the advantage of using one switch instead of two.... Other than having to mount two switches.

I guess theres no real advantage but youd have to run more wire than needed therefore more potential for problems and 1 switch IMO would keep it a cleaner easier install.

Thanks guys. Can you flush mount the cvo switch somewhere besides the console? I've got the ultra so all of those spots are filled.

I often thought the same thing as I have the same thing. Ultras have the speakers switch and reset button on the left and the aux and another switch (I can't remember) on the right.
I guess you could relocated the reset button and put the switch in that spot.

Pull out and move the trip detent button. Move it where ever you want. Oval out that hole where it used to sit. It'll look like the right side of the dash.

You can take Torqu advice and move the odometer button to the hole thats in the left side of the gauge housing. It will fit in that hole.

I finally found the time and removed the CVO trunk momentary switch.

Now I'm using the CB up and down on the left, it works great, right there at my finger tips.

Wasn't easy had to remove the outer fairing the handlebar and all the controls, also brake and clutch, just to pull the wires from the plastic cover, the hard part is to run them back thru that cover

The whole job took me about 4 hours, I like to do things neat, but it was worth it, really like it better than the CVO switch.

Legacy baggers makes some really nice switch plates for the air ride or aux switches. Custom designed to your liking. Chrome or black. They have been making quite a few of these.

Hey GunMetal I was looking to do the same thing this weekend but was just thinking of tapping into the wiring inside the fairing before the connectors. Do you remember what color the wires are? Also did you run a relay for your compressor?

Thanks Mark

Hi , you can't tap inside the fairing, if you do that you will loose volume control from the handlebars.
Mine is a 2006 and I don't know if the wire colors will be the same on yours, if you can get a hold of the wire diagrams from yours will be better.
The connector on the left side controls on mine have 12 wires, the 3 wires I used are on the same side of 6, the colors are grey/green, brown/black and purple/black.
The Pl/Bl needs to be disconnected from the connector and will be the power wire coming from your relay and or fuse.
Now you have to pull all the wires out of the black plastic cover, the Gy/Gr is split inside, one goes to the radio control switch, cut the part that goes to the CB control and add a length or wire enough to go to the fairing, do the same with the Br/Bk.
I use the Gy/Gr as the up and the Br/Bk as the down.
Yes I have a relay from before when I was using the CVO trunk switch.

If you need more information send me a PM, I will give you my ph nbr

Torq I just saw these in CB today. They look nice. How are they mounted? Adhesive?

Thanks GunMetal for the info, it looks like you nailed it. I will see what I can do this weekend. Already put the shocks on and currently using the stock air lines. I can't wait to get the adjustability of the rest of the system. While the fairing is off I'll go ahead and install my Sony and get rid of the HK that no longer has a working display.

3M double sided tape. He can make you any design you want. He does ignition covers and tank consoles also. Laser engraved. His name is Bengi and he a great guy. I think they are $65 for a set of the covers.
