I'm using a lowering kit with mine. I've got an aftermarket fender, so I'm not sure how to compare it.
How much clearance do you have or think you may have with that fender? Is it ridable if there's no air? Like I said I'm worried about a possible failure on the road. I want to be able to at least ride it out of harms way sorta speak and not damage the fender or tire

rlaf75 - I do not use a lower block. My shocks (Monroe) when aired all the way down do not rub.

Yeah mine dont either which is definitely a good thing in case there's an issue on the road you'd still be abled to ride the bike. I'm curious about the lowering blocks because when it's fully aired up I feel like I'm in a 82 camaro that someone jacked the ass end up with the air shocks.

Wow, long thread.
Anyhow I think I am going to try this on my 98 Glide.

Also I lowered the front end 2" with progressve springs.
If I do the air in back will my stock kick stand work?
Don't want to be the one to have all the air leak out and wake up in the am with my bike playing dead in the garage.

Long thread yes but you'll find all the info (do's and donts) you'll need to do this mod. If yours is already lowered in the front I would say yes you should get a shorter kick stand because my 09 with stock height front end stands almost straight up when completely aired down with the stock kick stand.

Even solo at that weight you will see a nice improvement in quality. I have had this set up since last winter and logged an easy 5000 miles solo and weight 175. What is nice you can adjust on the fly if you hit some really bad roads

So when I did my setup I ended up having to bash in the side of my pipes because the lower shock mounting bolt would hit them. It wasnt a big deal as they were gutted stock pipes with thunder city baffles however Ive come into some money and would like to replace all pipes...heads to slip ons and I cant dare think about bashing/denting side of new pipes in. Anyone have any suggestions? limiting straps? Would that stop the shocks from performing? With the wife and I on I go to 120-125psi.
