Has anyone done the DIY air ride system with the corvette shocks. I am seeing a lot of other forums talking about this and getting it done for around $250. Any input from anyone.

your monroes should have come with a coil of 1/8" air line and a schrader valve. if not its a quick trip to your local auto parts store

Parts starting to trickle in. got the air gauge, and bushings yesterday. Forgot how much I hate waiting on parts...lol especially when I am excited about a project. Hope to get the rest today so I can do the install this weekend, but not likely...we'll see...

Only thing I'm waiting on is the cvo switch. Thought about just going and getting a plain ole whatever switch and put wherever just to see everything working

im putting the dump valve in the line that goes from pump to shocks. im putting mine in r/h side cover, gonna run the exhaust out the back so when I dump it air shoots out back. :)

If you purchased a viair compressor most of them have the check valve already installed ... This will look like a little barrel nut ... It allows compressed air to travel to the shocks but not back into the compressor. without one the air pressure in the system would all be on the piston in the compressor and would leak and possibly damage the piston.. When you ordered your compressor it should have stated if it had the check vavle

the fitting right above the the label and threaded into the cylinder is the check valve

My buddies and I have installed this set up on 2 bikes in the past couple of weeks and still have 2 more to do. Yesterday we finished my buddies Street Glide and noticed that one of the shocks leaked air . It leaked at the weld of the upper mount. I had my shocks so we used one of them to get him back on the road.

Finally got all my parts except the fittings. getting those tomorrow, can someone explain to my overly tired, semi-retarded self how to install the energy bushings?? yeah, I really asked that....

I've dealt with pushing out a lot of four bar and shock bushings, and if you don't have a press or a good sized vise they are a lot harder. But if you take a drill and drill several holes around the rubber on the ones you're removing it makes it easier. I have even used a hole saw to cut the center out and then the outside comes right out, just don't gouge the eyelet on the shock itself. On putting them back in I've never had a problem on the poly bushings, if they were too tight, grinding a little bevel on the inside edge to get them started and using some lube to ease the process. Also if you don't have a big enough vise or press you can always put a large bolt through the bushings with a big washer on each side and as you tighten it the bushings will press in.

Okay have everything mounted and wired all working. Now ready to plumb the tubing, one problem where is everyone getting the 1/8 ptc (push to connect) fittings at? I have tried all kinds of places and no one has anything smaller than 1/4. The shocks are on the bike with the schrader valve now, the fittings i got that were 1/8 are not working for whatever reason. maybe I have the wrong ones...everyone of them leak...feeling pretty stupid at the moment. even if I went with 1/4 throughout I still have to get to 1/8 at the TEE to the shocks......VERY FRUSTRATED!!!

I actually got mine off eBay. Just search "1/8 od push fitting".

Okay, got everything installed. Ended up finding the connections I needed a t a very small local truck shop....lol. I ended up calling over a dozen places and this little hole in the wall had everything I needed. Big shops...uhhh no. Now everything is working well goes up goes down. Used a squirt bottle with some soapy water to check for leaks. Found a few, and fixed them....I thought...Test rode for about 50 miles and found that I seem to be losing pressure on the gauge I put in the dash in place of the temp gauge. Almost not noticeable, only about five pounds every 10 miles or so. I even checked the welds on the shocks and re-checked all the connections. Anyone else notice this? The ride seems to stiffer as well, but should work much better for a heavily loaded bike though...as long as I can find the very slight bleed off...Any ideas?
