I am super excited that my lower fairings and speaker pods are FINALLY arriving today! I ordered them on January 26th and then found out that Advan Black was shutting down for vacation for almost two weeks in mid-February. I kept checking in with them to see the status, and it was taking forever. Then they said they were all done, but at quality control during packing they didn't like how the pods turned out, so they had to repaint them. I stressed that I really wanted them to be perfect, so I hope they took a little extra time on my set. Anyways, I got a UPS shipping notification yesterday. Shipping from China yesterday and they are out for delivery to my house in Boise, Idaho today. :surprise: Advan must have put my lowers on an SR-71 for shipping. Very good of them!

Anyways, I know what I will be doing this weekend. I will be sure to post some pictures when they arrive. Crossing my fingers there are no issues with paint or damage.

Great news. I bought some Advanblack lowers from a member here, and am very happy. Paint is perfect match. I did have to paint the insides as there was blue overspray. But not a big deal. Let us see pics when done!

Yeah, overspray is one of the issues I am worried about. I've already planned on masking and painting the footwells with some bed liner paint if the overspray is too bad.

Thats Awesome!!

I am waiting on a replacement part coming in..... at no fault of theirs, they did package them well just seems like the box was possibly dropped as a part that keeps the sliding vent in place was fractured upon delivery, I have installed 1 side so far and for Candy Orange to me looks spot on, I am eagerly waiting to get the other speaker pod, they said it will be shipped out this week.

By the way did you mention to them that the caps on the back need to be cut for them to fit on the crash bars?

I forgot to mention it to them so when they came in everything fit well and here I was cutting brand new painted parts.....

I paid just below 400 for my speaker pods and lowers, probably was tax on there but I went through Amazon and had a few other things in the cart at the same time.

army, I did not mention that. I got the 14+ lowers and I thought you only had to cut that piece if you were fitting the older style lowers to a Rushmore. The older style lowers were less expensive, so maybe that is the difference in price. I guess I will see tonight when I get home. I've got Saturday all cleared for installation and have collected all the other parts I need, so hopefully it goes smoothly.

Congrats macabra!
Advanblack make some great products.
They also have, in my opinion, Great Customer Service.
I’ve made purchases from them and have been very happy to say the least.
Hope you enjoy yours too.

Well the UPS guy was sort of late last night, but I opened them up and just looked over them briefly. The good news is that everything was in the box, no mounting hardware was missing, and there was no overspray in the footwells! The bad news is that the paint match seemed a little off. In the fluorescent lights of my garage, the lowers seemed a touch darker than my bike so I will have to check it out in the sunlight today. I also noticed a few very small, faint scratches on some areas (you have to be looking VERY closely). They might buff out with some wax, so that really isn't a big deal. The only other issue is the one vent door doesn't sit flush in the opening. So when you close it, it rotates into the back of the vent opening edge. It is almost like the opening is a tad warped. Not sure if there is anything I can do to fix this or not? Has anyone else experienced/fixed this?

I really don't think any of these things pose enough of an issue to send them back and wait another 1-2 months to try again. I will try to post a couple photos later today.

Hi mine was like this and on one side the ventdoor was opening backwards but it was an easy fix just take it apart and fix it to close
the right way

Here are a few pictures of the color difference. In low light it is almost impossible to tell. In direct sunlight is where I notice it most. I sent pics to Advan Black and spoke with them in chat. They said that they painted it in Mysterious Red Sunglo, but they said my bike looks like Velocity Red. The 2015 FLTRXS was not offered in Velocity (that color came in 2016), so I have no idea now. I have been on hold with MOCO to have them look up the paint by vin. AB also asked for my VIN to look it up and said they would get back to me.

Well that sucks. In the 3rd pic it don't look bad. I'd maybe install them and look at them on the bike. The separation of the pieces may be enough to disguise the paint shade being off.

Btw... My bud has a '14 Street Glide in the Mysterious Red Sunglo, He also put the AB lowers on and the paint match is good. He sent them back the first time due to over spray though...

I have a 16 velocity red, looking at the pictures your bike does look about the same shade as mine. I know that mysterious red is a little darker than velocity. I wouldn't think that HD would paint it in a shade that was not offered until 16? The Advan mysterious looks spot on, ( I think), It certainly does not match your bike.

I think the first pic says it all...looks too dark to me. As to painting a shade thats not released yet, I have a 15 RGS that is Black Quartz. It was not released on the "Touring" models until 16. So, I guess it was technically released, but not used in that particular lineup.
I'd send them back. I've dealt with Sam at Advan Black before and he's a 'stand-up' guy.
