Curious if anyone gives their bike a name?
A couple of my chums do and have been bugging me to name her/him.
Guess that is part 2 of the question..is your bike male or female?
Since my bike is Merlot Sunglo I was playing with the name of
"Brown Sugar".
So my bike is a lady. Ha ha...
..Geeze can you tell I worked a night shift!

I have never named a bike.... Maybe I should. I got a fortune cookie today that said I need to take a vacation. So while I'm planning my vacation I guess I'll start thinking of names for him/ her

How do you tell if it is a boy or a girl?

My wife and I refer to our bike as "The Glide" or "Road Trip", which is what my vanity plate translates too.

She says all manual shift vehicles are male, automatics are female, so I guess it's male.

In the past 20+ years, I've learned not to question Blond Logic...

One of my friedns (who is also one of my favorite mechanics) said that I traded my EG in on the ugliest bike we had in the dealership, so I named the bike "El Feo" just to carry the joke. (Feo is ugly in Spanish, and yes the El is the improper wording for the word, but it was a joke!!)

Good thread...amusing.
Not sure if mine is male or female tho...it has kind of an asexual name....'Pack Mule'. Reason: everyone throws all their crap on mine when we are parked since Im rocking the stock paint which wont be the case for long. 2 friends have Sportys and they take all my extra bag space. I need to start renting that out!
Hmmm, what will my new name be?

Thought about that question for a while. Probably get into trouble typing this one. :)

They cost alot of money. They look good with jewelry(chrome). They don't move when they're hungry(out of gas). They like new shoes (tires). They need to be maintained. If you do something stupid..they'll drop you. Hmmm think my bike is female. :D Ha ha..

Mine were both named by a friend of mine shortly after buying them. Rosie for my Sportster and Clarice for my RG. The Clarice comes from us getting a little drunk after a ride one day. I was washing the bike and polishing it and made a comment from Silence of The Lambs. "It rubs the lotion on itself or it gets the hose again". The name stuck after that, for some reason it fits. First black vehicle has become a obsession with keeping it clean.

My anniversary bike I've always called "Hunny" (since she's a hundred years old). For some reason my RG got named Herm. I don't know why it got a male name. I suspect my bike might be gay. :( After all it is real purty.

Well, I used to call mine Goldy, because it was originally Smokey Gold. Now it's Vivid Black, but I always called my '95 FLHR Blackie, so maybe I can call the Road Glide "Viv" now.

Harley calls the paint Scarlett red, so I named her Hester. Not too many people know who Marguerite St. Just was anyway.
