my alpine ktp445u that i installed 08/12 has kicked the bucket, could using 2 & 4 ohm speakers caused any damage? what a good amp to replace it with? im thinking rockford pbr300x4.

Cerwin Vega B4. I have the B2 and it has some serious power for being so small

Look into the arc moto600.4. Awesome amp and will fit inside the fairing.

Yes using 2 and 4 ohm speakers together could have caused damage depending on how they were wired and the specs of the amp.

PBR 300x4 is 4 ohm only.

Arc Moto 600.4 and Cerwin vega B4 are 2ohm stable.

If you don't know about wiring audio up, let someone that does do it. Between blown speakers and amps, it can go south in a hurry!

I'd stay away from anything made by Rockford, I see to many people selling them after they have been RMA'd twice.

I've been running the ktp445u for 2 years now no issues, I have it running 2 JL 6.6's and 2 JL 1" tweeters.
For my rear I'm running a JL 400/4 Bridged to to JL 8.8's

I'm not a expert but I would run either 2ohm or 4ohm speakers off 1 amp, I wouldn't mix and match on the same amp.

I had the pbr 300x4 pushing 4 RF speakers and the sound was ok but going down the freeway forget about it. I have tried many amps and speakers and I finally went all Biketronics and It rocks going down the freeway and waranteed for life. Good luck.

Just bought myself a new Diamond Audio Micro4 600watt. Installing it tomorrow. Been running a small soundstream with Polk MM6501 in factory location and MM651 coaxial in the inner fairing. I'll let you know how it works out.

I have the j&m rokker amp with a set of their 71/4 speakers upfront and a set of hertz deci 6x9 in my saddle bags ( hertz speakers @ 4ohm and j&m @ 2ohm)... I can cruise the highway at 85 with a half helmet, ear plugs in and the volume not at full volume and hear everything crystal clear. I'm using the AV Aquatics head unit... Just my opinion from actual use...
