I need a new touring seat and I'm looking for recommendations. I had my Street Glide Sundowner seat Butt Buffered ($250) and was really disappointed! After only an hour, my co-pilot and I both had sore butts!?!?

I've heard good things about Mustangs super touring seats but wanted to get more feedback before pulling the trigger. Any and all recommendations would be appreciated.

I just did a 2100 mile ride on my Sundowner and was never uncomfortable. Perhaps you need a stiffer seat. The best seat I ever had was a Corbin. They're hard as cement and expensive but they work great (for me). I've been through dozens of seats and many have been disappointments. It's basically a crap shoot when it comes to picking the right saddle.

I'm starting to think the butt buffer was a BAD idea as you're the second person to tell me they love their sundowner.

I am running a Saddleman Road Sofa. And it looks like a sofa but it is comfortable. I had the HD reach seat on before. And the stocker before that. The reach seat was nice because it put me closer to the ground but the Sofa is the most comfortable of the three.

I have the HD Signature Series Solo Touring Seat w/Rider Backrest:

And, HD Signature Series Touring Passenger Pillion:

Not cheap, but I have really liked it. I like that it's a Solo Seat because 95% of the time, I cruise around w/the passenger pillion, backrest, and luggage rack off. And, when I put on he Passenger Pillion, it's very comfortable for Dawn.

Last year I did two 2K plus trips on this seat, one of which Dawn went w/me. She would stay in the saddle up to 150 miles at a pop w/o looking for a stop and wasn't complaining about her rear when we got off. I did 250 miles on Sunday riding back to Columbia, SC, from Eastern, NC, and was comfortable on this seat.

Hope this helps...

My buddy is selling his HD Road Zeppelin for $500.00 Air adjustable. Can't remember if it's the pillow style. Just rebuilt with new bladders, etc. He traded his ultra for a trike and kept the zeppelin. PM if interested

I just put a Harley Hammock on the seat is wide and I intentionally hit some ruts without the feeling of bottoming out. It is BIG but I have a bad neck and comfort comes first. I think it is comparable to the saddleman road sofa. The passenger pad is a hit with my sons and wife.

Pick up mustang two weeks ago wife and i love it best seat we had last bike had corbin no kidding hard as a rock.
What Mustang seat did you get? what's your build and which Corbin did you have.

I think I have it down to one of these three:

Saddleman Road Sofa with driver backrest
Mustang Super Touring One-Piece with driver backrest
Corbin Dual Touring with driver backrest

This is not a bad option too ... I kind of like the solo look! But for that kind of money I can get a Mustang, Corbin or Saddleman. Who knows I might end up buying padded under shorts for me and the Ms "my butt hurts" ....and save myself a lot of $$$$$

If at all possible, find someone near you with what you have narrowed down. I myself, cannot sit on a corbin or mustang for more then 5 minutes as I think they are both harder then a 2x4. You'd hate to spend a lot of money on something you don't like.

Good idea Chain .... I'm heading to Quaker Steak bike night tomorrow and Thunder in the Valley Friday with a plan to find someone with one of these seat! I'm also checking out dual exhaust! So wish me luck!!
