I found this video. It's mostly common sense but it's worth watching. At the end, they show you how to remove the headlight bezel. Although they don't mention it, you can also change your headlights without removing the faring too.

yeah, that was my first try at a How-To video I was a little nervous, but had a new camera and wanted to try it out.

I have since bought a Service manual.. H-D suggests the same method. Here I thought I was breaking ground

Very impressive Chain. You did it like a real pro. Do you have other "How To" vids? I was board and Googled "Road Glide Maintenance" and it popped up. I figure that there's always something new I can learn.

I was going to do one on removing and reinstalling the outer fairing, but there have been a lot of threads already covered here, with some pictures. So I figured pictures are good enough.

The reason I thought everyone did it the other way, was my Service manager at the dealer I bought the bike from told me the regular way (inserting the wellnuts into the fairing first, then adding the shield). So I just took for granted thats how everyone did it. Then I learn that he is just a dummy and Im not as smart as I thought I was.

One question. I've got an 08 RG. I need to replace the light bulb for my Volt meter. Can I get to it by removing the head light?

Chainsaw, what year is your bike? At the end of your video, it shows how to remove your headlights without removing your outer fairing. My 05 has the plastic bezel over the headlights and I have the same four places to pop it out as you show in your video. It looks like the black cover around your headlight would fit mine as well.
