Hi all..... long time reader. And I must say I have found alot of good info here. Thanks to everyone.....
Ok so I have a 15 RGS, and final bit the bullet and changed bars. I went with the road 6 customs 13" traditional bars.
I tore apart the stock bars everything went fine. I ran the wires in the new bars. Went smooth no issues. I was able to leave the dreaded green plug on the wire harness. I reinstalled the bars. Went to start the bike and fired right up. And lo & behold........ The cruise light was flashing, check engine light was on and no throttle..... that sucks!!!!!!!! I was reading here that I may have wired the tbw plug wrong. So I checked that and changed the wires to what i thought the position should be. Hooked everything up. Hit the start button, and would turn over but no start........ there I am heart broken.....lol Ok so I thought I would start from the beginning. Took the bars off, pulled the right side switch harness and tbw harness out to check the green plug. It appeared to be plugged in and in good shape.
I taped the plug reassembled the right side. Ran down to my local indy shop to double check the tbw plug wire location. Reassembled correctly hooked everything up, put everything together. And started the bike, and again...... cruise light blinking,engine light is on and no throttle!!!!!!!!! I know this subject has been beat to death. I just need help. I wired a 08 Electra Glide with 4 billion wires and didn't have this much trouble.... thanks in advance........

What DTC codes are you getting? IF you are absolutely sure you have repinned correctly.... and ensure you have not pinched anything under the hand control clamps.

Did you pull the main fuse and reset codes? Try it, if not....

Definitely sounds like the wiring is not correct for the TBW... codes will help... pull em and post em

I attempt to pull codes last night,but wasn't sure what I was looking at...lol I will read the sticky tonight. I haven't pulled the main fuse either. I compared my tbw plug with a another at my indies shop and it was the same, but it was a batwing. But I would think it would be the same as a roadie.

Here what I found from other sites....

P2122 TGS1 Low/Open. Twist Grip Sensor problem. Loose/faulty or pinched wiring or possibly bad sensor.

P1510 Throttle actuator control limited
P2138 Twistgrop sensor correlation error

This what I found on the P2127/2138

had similar problems, ended up being the black and white wire broken internally about one inch behind the Throttle Control Actuator. The black wire is the TCA sensor ground (sensorsignals tell the ECU the throttle position). Having the Power Vision hooked up made trouble shooting easy because I could look at the twist grip sensor output and the TCA output signal, the twist grip signal moved when I moved the throttle and the TCA signal didn't. You should be able to ohm out the wires and move them around to see if there is any intermittent opens in the wires. Mine would run great then go into limp mode intermittently. The Technical Service Bulletin previously mentioned was a big help in figuring it out.

So I pulled the 50amp main fuse and still the same. I attempted to clear the codes out. The P2122 & P2127 cleared but the other 2 (P1510 & P2138)remained.
So I guess I will take the bars off and disassemble and start over. Double and triple check everything. And eliminate the green plug. And see where that gets me.
Thanks everyone for you help and insight on my problems. I will post the results when I get done. Success or failure..lol

Gonna be putting some Factory47 14" Malo Bars on in the next few months. What do people mean when they say get rid of the green connector? How do you get rid of it if its the cable for the throttle. Any info or tips would be great. thanks

There are some awesome threads on the process, but you basically cut the wires fore and aft of the green plug and solder them together. There are instructions on which color coded wire goes where and tips and tricks. Check them out in the controls and handlebar thread.

UPDATE !!!!
Ok so I tore the bars apart. Pulled all the wires out, both sides. Basically started from scratch. Checked and double checked the green plug. Seamed to look fine but, I decided I would remove it anyway. I went to the sticky post and read it. Followed the directions to the t. After I got the wires all soldered up I even double checked.... reassembled the the bars. The wires pulled thru easy, no problems. Put the bars on, got everything hooked up. Started the scooter and samething "UUUGGG!!!!!!"...... engine light on, cruise light blinking and no throttle....
I even pulled the neg. Batt cable and samething.
So I am going to assume the TGS took a dump or TPS........
Any other ideas from the guru's
