Hey all,
I picked up my RG (2010) 2 weeks ago & I think I need to wake her up a little. Be easy on me, I'm not made of money & I just bought a new scoot! I want to breath life into this bike, but don't want to loose the house doing so... I'm comming off an '07 Dyna with V&H pipes that SCREAMED! much quicker than the RG, but I know it's a much different animal,....that's why I love it!
Anyways... looking for the most bang for the buck..... Anyone, anyone, Bueler?....

Well a new bike comes with 2 major problems..
1, it has a sinus infection, cannot breath
2, it is constipated, it needs and enima..
Screamin Eagle air breather.. now it can breath
D&D or free flowing exaust of your choice. now it can exhale.
Find someone in your area to dyno tune and remap the computer for the upgrades.

Congrats on the "NEW" bike man! Since ya just came off a "DYNA" that "SCREAMED" I suggest a ThinderHeader and the Scream-n-Eagle Heavy Breather.Thats what ya want and most importantly "NEEEEEEEED" Dyna, from what ya described probably was a cool bike? But ya do this to the Roadie, now thats where its at!

You can make the appearance of it at least 20mph faster by getting a short, smoked windshield from e-bay. Should only cost about $35 or so.
Put a set of hand grips on that feel manly instead of the Schwinn bicycle hand grips that H-D puts on it.

Check out the SuperTrapp 2-1 Super Meg exhaust. Makes awesome TQ in the useful (1500 - 4800 rpm) range. I would also recommend taking to Jamie at Fuel Moto about exhaust.

Congrats on the new bike. I stepped up from an 01 Lowrider much like yourself. Sooooo glad I did.

Go with a full system if you can afford it, you will like the slip-on for a while, but then you will want the full system. Thats why I vote for the fulll suystem now! IMHO! I agree with the S.E. breather, I'm kinda a fan of the Ventilator they have out (looks like the one off the '09 SERG)

AC & pipe I can handle...for now. Is there a good free flowing slip on for a '10's 2 into 1? or should I look into replacing the whole system?
The catalyst in the stock header is extremely restrictive. If you can swing the funds, a real header will make the most dramatic difference.

If you plan to ask here which exhaust system is best, prepare for a barrage of opinions and answers. I'll make it easy on you: D&D FatCat

Congrats on the new bike

Congrats on the new ride. I won't offer up any more choices on the updgrades, due to there being an abundance of them being offered up. All good by the way. This thread was REALLY fun to read with all this advice you can't go wrong, at least you have a lot of choices anyway.

I've had my 2010 RG for 2 weeks myself. It's got 825 miles on the clock and I love it!
I've installed the Nightstick slip on for now. It has a little more sound than stock but it's not a cop caller.
I just got back from checking the HP. and TQ. on the dyno. After warm up the numbers read 63.9 HP. and 78.5 TQ. This is just for a baseline to grow on.

Like you I need to add a free flowing A/C and have it tuned.

The A/C, PC-5, and Fuel Moto 2 into 1 head pipe are on the way.

Mike,
Are you getting the Jackpot head pipes from Fuel Moto? If so please let us know, when you can, the impact on heat and HP/TQ of using these.
Thanks

Yep, it's the Jack Pot 2 into 1.
Yes, I've been keeping track of the heat with the oil temp gauge.
In my neck of the woods the summer temps. are usually 70ish.
I checked the temp. before and after the dyno runs.
195* prior and 224* after. These new ones do run warm.
Last week we had a heat wave in the great NW., I saw oil temps. up into the mid 240* range.

I'll take the bike back to the dyno after the parts install and keep you posted with new numbers and hopefully a reduction in the heat production.

I love this bike!

I have 2010 also.
I have added the Ness Big Sucker, PCV from Fuel Moto and the Carriage Works slip on but still running the stock head pipe. I would be interested in your numbers when you're complete and by the way, congratulations.

Here are some suggestions. The way I see it, giving a bike attitude is all about performance. You can throw a bunch of chrome on your bike but that's not "attitude" in my opinion. Unfortunately, horsepower and performance cost money.

High Flow Breather Kit
RB Racing Pipes
TTS Tuner
Cams
Ported Heads

If you can do the work yourself, you'll save a lot of money.
