Got a new fairing organizer last month and was really admiring it. Looks like original equipment. EXCEPT that the magnets that hold the doors shut are apparently glued in with some kind of Chinese nasal excretion. When I pulled the door open today to put my glasses in, the magnets came up with the door. The glue was still sticky on the back of the magnets. It is a nice piece of kit, and what's $160 to a Harley guy, but you had better be prepared to do some remedial work to make it last. Just my $0.02...

That fairing organizer is notorious for being a piece of junk. A majority of the reviews state the same defect you just described.

Yup. Nonstop complaints about the magnets. That and not really a lot of room for anything other and a pack of smokes for reference size.

The pockets are not very bit, but it's sufficient for holding glasses, ear plugs and small crap such as that. I have cleaned the magnets and the indentions where they go with Goof-off, which is just expensive lighter fluid, and then with alcohol, and am going to try some better glue.

Final report on fairing organizer. Put magnets back in with super glue (beautiful glue job), not realizing that the metal in the flaps were magnets and not just steel washers. So naturally, I didn't check the polarity of the magnets before gluing them back in. Of course, I got them both in ass backwards. Now the flaps stick out about two inches. As God is my witness, all I'm buying from Harley Davidson for the rest of my life is oil and filters.

This post made me laugh "beautiful glue job". I feel your pain as that is something I totally would have done myself.

Final, final report: The fairing organizer comes completely apart (if you have a 2.5mm hex driver) and there is a small hole in the back of the indention that the magnets fit into whereby I could punch out the magnets. The super glue had stuck to the magnets, but not the plastic. I got some clear epoxy and cleaned, then glued, the magnets back in (right side out this time) and put it back together. Waiting for the epoxy to set up now and I will take the windshield back off and reinstall the organizer. The glue that was used to put the thing together is still sticky all over and if left out in the sun for any length of time will probably completely fail. The organizer is well-designed and pretty handy, but the construction is total crap (glue-wise). For $154, plus tax, I would not recommend that anyone purchase this thing... Regards to all, JD
