I just wanted to say what a great time I had at my first shark week. It was so fun to meet everyone, and put faces with handles. It also blew me away how friendly and welcoming everyone was. That is hard to do in a large group, and you folks really nailed it. I had so much fun.

Just a note, my forum name has changed, I was Camiller72. And now I will forever be known by my new handle and much more appropriate name, Bandman! Thanks, again, and even though I will be unable to make it to Canada due to the dates, I will be making every attempt to make a meet n' greet here and there and SWVII!

See you all very soon!

Chris

I agree. From a newbie here and my first SW, all I can say is wow. The group of guys and gals are just unbelievable. It's hard to believe just how many nice people there are here. The whole experience will be remembered for a long time. See you next year at SWVI

For those that couldn't make it or chose not to its hard to imagine that many people getting along so well. Gary and I felt like we knew Smarty and Dale all our life. We just shook hands and rode. I'd go around the world with all of you just to sit under a tent at the end of the day and shoot the shit. I expect to round a corner and see Tim coming back from some long trip any day now. Awesome time.

It's been brought up many times, it simply takes a special kind of person to load up and ride a motorcycle across the country,or into another country, north to south, east to west, west to east etc, to meet up with a group of people you've never met and hang with them for a week, voluntarily. There's 18,500 members on this forum, probably less than 1000 of them active at any one time, and less than 200 will do what it takes to show up at a "national" event.

So what you end up with is a small batch of people with a common interest that leave all the BS at home. No agendas, no vendettas, no issues, no posing etc, just 150 people or so that show up to have fun with their common interest.

So true! My first SW was #3 in St George, Utah. Had an absolute blast. Then headed to Maine (ok, NH) for SWIV, and had more fun in the hotel corridors and game room than I've had in a long, long time. Now, just finished SWV in Tejas, and once again enjoyed the socializing. The sisters were pretty darned cool, too. Oh, and the dealer lunch - out freaking standing! They went all out for us! Major props. Those Canadiens are going to have to work at topping the prior events. But if anyone can do it, Troy and team Canada will blow our socks off! Cans and bottles to foreheads for all!

Ditto, Ditto and Ditto. Only regrets after making two shark weeks is having not made five and not having more time to spend with all the friends we have made.

Can't wait for Canada!

This is an awesome thread. I appreciate the fact it was started by a SW 1st timer. It reminded me of my 1st SW in Utah. I had such a great time meeting new friends and getting a taste of how this National Event works.

Riding across the Country to SWIV with my buds from SoCal and picking up new friends along the way was really a memorable experience. I don't know if I would have ever made that trip without this site. I know it wouldn't have been as much fun. Seeing the same faces again is really cool.

Going to Texas was a no brainer. If you haven't been to a SW its hard to put into words. Take it from the 1st timers who've already posted in this thread. Just a damn good group of people, looking out for one another and having a great time doing what we do.

See you in Canada
