On to my next upgrade. I bought a KlockWerks Tude 21" fender. In order to mount I have to use spacer blocks. I bought them in raw thinking I'd just get them painted with the fender. My painter said he didn't want to paint (or very lightly paint) the touch point/sides that bump up against the slider and fender. Said if there was any vibration.......paint could scrap and start to fail. Mentioned using protective tape or possible spacers to protect fender - block - slider connections.

What do the masses do? Protect the connection or just screw it on a wish for the best? I'm very new to these top of customizations so sorry if this is a stupid question. I haven't pulled off my old fender yet.......there could be a something already there to protect again this.
