Bought my 2015 shark last May, and have been lurking here since. It's my first Harley, been on old cafes and rat bikes for years. Finally got tired of not being able to find parts and wondering if a 30 year old Honda would start in the Texas heat. Brother bought a sporty years ago and after wrenching on it I caught the Harley bug. Had to have a road glide and realized that when they do go up for sale the 10 year old ones are still 15-20k so I bit the bullet and bought my first ever new vehicle. I love this bike!

Had a cage turn into me in south Dallas this February and just got her back last week with some fresh paint, but I'm still getting repaired so I figured I'd join the community and BS on the interwebs until I'm back in the saddle. 1000 miles a month up until the wreck, and can't wait to get back at it.

Welcome to the forum! I started riding 3 years ago. Before that, as a "cager", I was a pretty aggressive driver. I couldn't believe how terrible other drivers were, and how many of them were out there! Now that I've been riding for 3 years, it's WAY worse than I ever thought possible. People are absolute imbeciles in their cars. I'm getting to the point that no matter how alert of other vehicles I am, it's not going to be a matter of IF, but WHEN one of these tools hits me! Hope you're fully recovered, and stay safe!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Everything is ok, back is still sore, but I'm having a steroid injection today and starting physical therapy. Had a half dozen broken ribs and 2 damaged discs. It's been rough, and I learned that walkers don't come standard with tennis balls on the feet lol, but I rode it home from the shop a week ago, and now it's just more rest and trying to figure out what to replace the god awful stock seat with.

Sh1520, folks in cars are insane, I've been a professional driver for nearly a decade and most people wouldn't believe the crazy things I've seen people do. from watching movies on a laptop propped on the steering wheel to climbing through the back window reaching for a beer and steering with their feet. I've been riding since I was a teenager and other than a few losses of footing and failures to deploy kick stands this was my first motorcycle accident. That "not IF but WHEN" thing rings true. I literally had time to grab the breaks and say "Oh Sh..." She didn't see me and thought she had an arrow. Be careful out there, it doesn't matter if you're Valentino Rossi, if a car doesn't register that you're there sometimes there's nothing you can do.

Padwell88, I'm in Arlington too! Just listed DFW since I'm usually running all over the area. The family is spread out from Richland Hills to Richardson. Grew up and still live close to the stadiums, still love cruising around Green Oaks and spent a lot of my youth at the Sonic on Little Rd.

Well first off glad your OK.
The bike can be replaced or fixed.
I've been riding since I was 16 years young.
I'm now 52 and yes I have been down three times over all those years.
I have 6 more lives to go and my wife has a million dollar life insurance policy.
Welcome to the site.
Let us know once you get your bike back up and running.

Welcome to the forum. Glad to see more Texans. Hope you get back riding soon. I had back surgery to take care of a blown disk and hasn't slowed me down.
