Just sold my 99 Valkyrie last week. , I loved that Valk, I definitely have "sellers remorse." I have been helping my kids with school for my grandchildren. I also had an 04 RK but sold that as well a few years ago. I have always liked the look of the RG, I have not as yet rode one. I'm 63 yrs. old and retired from the fire dept in the Boston area. I'm in good shape and figure I have a few years left before they tie me to a chair and feed me porridge. I't want to' want do a cross-country trip before too long and would like to do it on a RG. I like the 2010 but don't want to pay $23k for it.
The only thing I dislike about the RG is up to the year 08 ,the left side of the engine is in that dull gray color. Am I correct in this observation or do some models other than 08 upwards have black powder coated engines? Lastly, I have locked up the brakes on all my bikes in the past and would really like a bike with ABS. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated, GreatSite!

Had an 03 Valk myself put 45K on it and loved it on the highway, just not as much fun in the twisties as an HD for me. The newer RG models and I believe other touring models definitely have the black engines. I'm not sure which year it changed.

Welcome, Ladderman. Hope you can beat the 23K, I know it's a little steep. As for the ABS, I had no idea I'd like them as much and use them as much as I do. Best to ya'.

Welcome. You should be able to get the answers you are looking for here.
I don't know much on the ABS brakes and my '06 does not have it, I have locked the rear tire on a few hard stops but the RG was pretty stable till I stopped.
