Ok, here's the deal, I just ordered a set of Hogg Chopps lowers for my '08 and was wondering if anyone knows if there are any glove boxs out there that will fit the Hogg Chopps.

I won't have the lowers for about 3 weeks but I'm thinking of trying building some unless I can find something that will work. Looks like it will be a PITA to try to fabracate something that will work. Was also thinking about mounting a second set of speakers down there like I did on my old Ultra.

I'll post something if I find anything or end up making my own.

Others can jump in, but I don't believe that boxes are made anymore for hoggchopps. He was looking at doing it in the beginning and then he got into the rockin' tops instead. Let us all know what you success and challenges are with this process as there are quite a few out here that are interesting in speakers in the Hoggchopps.

Like I said, about three weeks til I get the lowers. I'm just now starting to look at different materials to use to make the boxes. I might be in over my head but thats never stopped me before. Most likely will end up with a very large pile of scrap and a bigger hangover. Let you guys know how it turns out.

Get the chopps on your bike, then decide if you want glove boxes or not. I thought I wanted them to before I got my hogg chopps. Once they came, and I installed them.. they sit so far forward it would be dangerous to try to reach when riding and you probably wouldn't be able to see what your grabbing for anyhow.
Besides,.. RG's have built in glove boxes that are close to the same size as whats on the H-D lowers. If your hurting for space that much,.. put a luggage rack on your trunk. :p

See how far forward they are..

I'm not really think about more storage. I'm thinking of mounting speakers down there like I did on my Ultra. If someone already made glove boxes, it would be a lot easier to modify them than to start from scratch. We'll see how it goes once I get the lowers.

Glove boxes for Hogg Chopps Lowers

I waited for almost a year to order my Hogg Chopps since they had listed on their web site (for that same year) a combo deal that included the lowers and the glove boxes. The web site just said coming soon for a year.

After numerous e-mails where I was told they were "working on them" I was finally told nope, we're not going to do it. Pissed me off, but I ordered the lowers anyhow and what a difference they make in wind management.

I would definitely be interested in speakers for the lowers, but agree with chainsaw, don't need anymore storage space, and it wouldn't be accessible at any speed.

Chainsaw, I have been reading how you did all that paint yourself, not many people even try to paint chrome. The bike looks great. Having the same bike as you works for me. you did all the R&D, and I get to see what it looks like before I spend money. Thanks .

Well I don't know exactly what you mean by "commit" but I would definitely be interested in seeing what you can come up with for the Hogg Chopps.

I am vaguely familiar with the word "commit". The last time it was used in a sentence around here I got married. In a nutshell it means do you agree to buy this with your hard earned money for a lifetime of happiness or misery (whatever the case may or may not be). Not to change the subject entirely but after a year of seeing that the "HoggChopps gloveboxes" were coming on his website, I e-mailed "Andy" and asked him what the dealeo was. He said he decided to get married instead and to forget about the golveboxes and speakerpods for HoggChopps. So, I really think if some enterprising person would come up with some nice looking speakers for HoggChopps, ole "Andy" would be the person to talk to.

Commit may be a strong word, but I would like to think that for the effort that goes into producing a set and casting molds, that there would be more interest than just one person. Granted alot of people would like to see a speaker pod as an option for these, but how many would be willing to drop the cash on them? I would expect that a pair could run $400, easily. With a cash number on the pods what kind of interest does that hold?
