Just purchased my first Road Glide. I have ridden HD for a while. My other is a 2000 FX Springer and it doesn't have all the buttons on it.
No manual so I am trying to learn how to use the radio, cruise and what ever else the controls, control.
It has a handle bar mounted stereo input device. I seem to be able to make it work. No visual display so not sure what I should be seeing.
As for the stereo, not sure how to make it do everything or even what everything it is supposed to be able to do.
I've got a PTT button, is there an intercom built into the stereo?
It also appears to change the setting on the radio when I push "set".
Could there be things messed up in the wiring? Could it be this bike is just to complicated for my old mind and habits?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome from Florida. Sounds like you have an RGU, I'm not familiar with the buttons, but I'm sure someone who is will chime in soon.

That there device mounted on the handlebar looks to be aftermarket. Does it plug into the front of the radio? Hang in there, some one on here seen it before.

Welcome from Fort Mill, SC. I would suggest looking at Amazon for a used owners manual or aftermarket manual.

Welcome. The chrome device is the Harley Road Tech HA90 digital music player. The mode button on the player just cycles Repeat song, repeat all, and random song. You will need an SD card (goes under the black cover). To get it to play the radio needs to be in Aux mode. To power it up press the top right button for a few seconds.

yup, HA90

Thanks gang for the greetings and yes, Tee, it is an HA90. Thank you,
that does help. Tried HD site and guess they do not sell them anymore so no help there.
I push buttons and nothing really changes. I get music and luckily the former owner had good taste in tunes. :)
I will keep an eye out for info.
Thanks again.

Can't help with the control unit, but does look to be aftermarket. I have a service manual for 1999 that I will ship to you for $10 plus shipping. If interested you can pm me. By the way welcome to the tank! My 1st RG was a 99, made me fall in love with the model.

so it was a beautiful day. I was worried about riding because of cam bearing and tensioner worries. Wanting to find out if they have been replaced already. Decided I would just take it for a spin. Ran great and felt pretty comfy for my 6'5". I have a short windshield so all I can say for that is, it's cool looking.
After just over 20 miles of riding it quit! Got it home with the help of a friend/ mechanic. Cleaned some connections and charging the battery. Hopefully that takes care of it. Still think it is a pretty cool bike.
Always something with a used bike or car. At least I kept my first trial ride close to home.

Twinkie is what some people call the twin cam engine. It is the latest, introduced in the late 90's after the Evo. I cant remember exactly what year it was introduced in which model.
