Ok, tired of the Harley radio and light just burned out on my 2013 Glide. SO I ordered a system from Cartronics in Bradenton for 520.00 complete and shipped to my door , here's what I got;

Sony Marine MEX 70BT with, Harness and thumb Controller and ASWC-1 so my OEM controls work

Clarion Marine 6.5 Component 300 w speakers with Adapters for Road Glide

Clarion 4Ch 200Watt class D marine micro Amp. This thing is the size of stack of 100 dollar bills. 2 Channel 100W ea. 4channel 50 Watts each 4ohm

Everything is plug and play except one Wire and the guy put in step by step instructions. Ive installed several radios on touring bikes and Amps from Hog tunes, to Hog wired to Bike tronics, Ive used Arc amps, Fosgate amps and to me Amps are all pretty much the same if they have the same output, that being said, Im running two speakers only and just want Blutooth and USB connectivity which it has and will run and drill small hole through left glove box so my phone will charge and play Pandora or my songs. I also have my Library on flash drive I can plug in Front.

I'll let you all know how my budget system works.

t did come with kit. Everything 100% Complete. I can tell you Biketronics should lower their price again because that AWS controller works like a charm and instant. Theres even an APP on the iphone for that Sony Radio. System is really Strong and clear. I set the Amp to low freq and flat. I set radio on custom 250Hrz with +5db of base and it cranks. I ran usb through glove box and sound quality on usb is way better than Blue tooth. Blue tooth enable me to adjust volume on iphone as well but can not on USB I have to adjust it before I plug in. phone calls come through crystal clear and the microphone works perfect. I ran that through other side glove box and pull out and clip on cable to speak. Not bad. USB I'll post pics later but easy install

Apples to Oranges maybe. ASWC-1 can be had for 29-39 dollars and requires one wire to be spliced on later model bikes. Biketronics is 100 % plug and play true , but at $250.00 is cheapest I saw on ebay.

There are a couple on the market Im told but was also told and read several reviews including here that the ASWC-1 is instant and has no delays and is easy to program, and all of this is 100% true. It took no more than 1 minute to program to my Sony head unit and there is no delay. And whats nice is I can choose what buttons work what but I left it how it did it right away.

Not trying to bad mouth Biketronics, but they had the market cornered on this for the last 5 years or more I can remember cause ive bought them before and it was even more then like 350.00. Im just giving my experience and if you wanna save a couple hundred and can cut and solder one Pink wire, then why not.

Oh I get it and yes the Axxess is a good device and I use it on installs but the BT is not $250, more like $200 shipped.

When recommending setups, I always tell people about both devices. You'd be surprised at how many want to retain AVC.

I hear ya brother. The AVC is something I turn off in my new cars as soon as I get in and Motorcycles. And 200.00 is a more fair number in my opinion. I didn't see one that cheap on ebay but then again I should have checked Amazon and others but Im pretty techy and wire solder savvy so I saved a couple bucks. It is amazing how the prices have come down on these after market systems though.
Thanks for the updated info

Ironically enough I still use AVC albeit turned down to position 1. Anything higher than 1 IMO, you're just asking for trouble as an amp is usually dialed in either with a test tone or by ear sitting still therefore AVC has no bearing on anything. Get moving and then the output of the head unit is increased and therefore so is the distortion level. Distortion will kill a speaker LONG before actual power output of an amp will.

AVC can burn you though

you get everything just right and toned in and accelerate into a jumbled mess

distortion = wear and tear = shorter speaker life

I use the BT1005 - with the AVC turned off - sometimes it resets itself - if the battery on the bike drains down - default is three clicks, think?

high SPL speakers are the best deal on the bike

good luck with your install

as soon as I paired the phone the app pooped up for the Sony radio. Its really cool and your backseat rider if any can control everything, Pandora etc..
I like the USB way better than Bluetooth as the signal is super clear and the volume is way better as well. Ran the USB in Glove Box
