Not that I do not completely trust the seller of a new to me 2010 RG (good friend), but for piece of mind I would like to change all fluids except for the forks. Now I am familiar with wrenching on HDs but have never worked on a touring model. I am looking for time savers, no shortcuts, and good to knows. I have put AMSOIL in my rides and will continue to do so. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I use K&N oil filters with the nut on them which helps when removing them. I also changed out the Torx bolts on my primary cover and replaced them with Allen Heads. Those 2 tips will save you some time. The oil filter will come off faster and easier and I've had the Torx heads strip and had to drill/tap them out. Replacing them with Allen heads has solved that problem.
