Not sure if your experiences are the same as mine but when i am cruising along in the fast lane pushing 75-80 people move out of my way to let me pass. Now i am not talking about getting right up on them and harassing them to move but more so i really could almost hit cruise on the bike and just go home with no brakeing.

This did not happen on my Street Bob as far as i can remember and i am pretty much amazed how much "respect" if you will, i get when riding on the highway.

I have not really been able to put my finger on it other than maybe it's becuase we have some Goldwing Motorcops in TX and from your rearview mirror maybe my dual headllights ar compared to that???

What are your experiences??

Just get some blue flashing lights and you are all set :)

We still have to push people out of the way down here. Everyone thinks they've got the fastest car on the road, even though it may be a piece of junk and falling apart :)

Some folks just get right over into the fast lane then fall asleep there despite all the traffic that flashes headlights at them. They sit there right at the speed light as though they are the self appointed speed limit enforcer.
A lot of folks don't understand the concept of; travel right, pass left. In VA its the law.

I've noticed similar. They think I'm a LEO and slow down. I followed one lady (she was alone in the car) down the carpool lane at a metered on-ramp. She looked in her rearview and immediately pulled over. Boy was she pissed when I pulled alongside and she saw my fat ass on my all black RG Ultra :D :D :D

I moved to AZ from NJ

Out here folks think they own whatever lane they are in period. lane hawgs and some, But I'm learning that load pipes and these new RG high beams are great and when they see the gun strapped to your side they focus more on the road ahead of them. It's fun to just ride along side for awhile LOL:eek::eek::eek: open carry is great! conceal is a comfort.

There are obstructing traffic laws on the books in California. The CHP doesn't enforce them.

Or maybe they just don't observe it because everyone slows down to the speed limit when a "Chippie" shows up ... ;)

Holy Thread Revival!!!!! Okay there I said it!

....But I thought this was interesting....I too notice that cars move out of the way. I also have this light blue helmet that probably looks awfully close to them as some law enforcement. we do have a quite a few motorcops in my town.

Damn Paul .... You went deep in the archives to get this one LOL. I have to admit cars do seem to give more room to pass compared to what I was getting on the FatBoy. I don't know if they think LEO or they just know we're on RG's and want to see what mods you've done lol.

It might be a benefit that only y'all down in TX see. I've noticed that every time I ride in Texas people often pull over to let me by. Sometimes they even do this on two lane backroads. They'll pull over onto the shoulder and wave me by.

Good folks, those Texans.

Same way for me down in Miami. I usually just hit cruise control on a non-traffic day and rarely break unless I see a cop, lol.

I run my Hi-beam in daylight & I try to make sure they get it in there side mirror/rear view mirror. But we have some of the dumbest, distracted drivers here in California & they don't have a clue, what's going on around them. I'm sure it's the same in your states also. Be safe.

Here in California the CHP will sometimes hand out Junior Patrolman stickers to kids that look remarkably like a real CHP badge. I have a friend who mounted one of these on his helmet and he'll sometimes ride his Heritage with the passing lamps flashing and alternate his headlight high beam. It's hysterical to see people frantically pulling over when he comes up on them from the rear. All totally legal!

My bike is candy orange and black helmet but people move over when I am behind them. I give the credit to the Daymakers plus it is a big ride.

Not in Albuquerque!

Here, they drive as though they are the only people on the road. You want the lane, GO AROUND! Tailgating is a real issue too! Albuquerque in traffic? Roll the dice and take your chances...
