......and I ain't talking about the Goofball from Oz.......more like the one Ozzy Sang about with Tony & Geezah behind him..."Never Talking.....Just keeps Walkin"............>:)

Okay, enough of that.......heading out on the first long run with the RG - We call it the Flat Four Tour as we roll through the Land of Lincoln until we hit Corn Country (Iowa, stick with me here) then we head North along the River to Minnesota - We Rack out in Minnie tonight then roll out at Dawn's Butt Crack tomorrow, head up into Wisconsin then run the Alphabet Roads (CT Rd A, B, C etc) back into Illinois for a total of about 800-900 miles - Trip is designed for those who can't be far from home for long and makes the best out of the suck we have to ride here in the Mid West - Iowa along the River is nice and Wisc Alphabets can be fun too

Like the Snowman Says, 'West Bound & Down....Loaded Up & Runnin"..........yeah yeah, I know it's East Bound but I ain't headin that way

If I don't make it back, someone keep an eye on Reds and Uncle Fuzzy for me and SH, keep your phone on incase I need "Bronze Assistance"

See ya on the Road Skag !!!!!!!

All and All.........bout 950 miles door to door - Hot as Satan's Balls yesterday but the Illinois to Iowa and Iowa up the River to Minn is awesome - Fantastic Roads, great sweepers and perfect pavement - THEN comes day two...........awoke to a Downpour that cleared by the time we left but we rode about 20 mins behind it as the storm cell was headed the same way we were - Wet Pavement, cold and mid sixties and the Minn to Wisc ride has some "Goat Paths with a little tarmac thrown atop" - Trucking along and then BLAMMO.......gravel in the corners......heavy brake at lean on wet stuff while goring thru gravel.........LOVELY - After 2.5 hours of it, I bailed......saw the Hwy, bid farewell to the crew and super slabbed it home - Outran the Rain for 30 mins then BOOM.........Sunny and 70 - Set the cruise control at 85 and just CHILLED for about 4 hours.........solo shot..........was actually not a bad way to wind down the ride

Had the RG leaned over in the sweepers at about 95, no scrapes, no pogo sticking........just planted - Took me a few to get the feel for it but with a little forward, crouched lean and half a butt check hanging off, I felt 100% spot on - Tried it straight up while leaning on the back back rest........did not feel right

All and all........first long haul on the Road Sofa and could not be happier

Right on, sounds like a good time, it's a nice feeling when you get the "feel" for a new bike!
Indeed - Took me about an hour of many tries and was in a sweeper that had a bit of a dip that kind of threw me fwd......and when I hung a half a cheek .......it all fell into place - I was mid pack of about 14 guys on all diff kinds of bikes - Once I got the hang of it I began picking them off one by one until I got up to 3rd and the 2 cats in front of me meant bidness so I figured best to enjoy my new spot

Never understood owning sport bikes in certain parts of the country. I would definitely haul them to the curves instead of wearing those sticky tires flat on all those straights.

I rode the Concours 1400 on the Great River Road back in '13. It was a great ride and I found the source of the Mighty Mississippi and walked across it. :)

OK for cheap beer.

Having only ever seen the southern Mississippi which is barge traffic and floating casinos, I never imagined a recreational Mississippi.

I used to be one of the Crotch Rocket Fools but after years on the Odometer and Hours in the MRI Tube.......I am now the Comfy old guy on a Road Sofa flashing my high beams to let me by and watching them shake their head when I pass............and by no means am I THAT fast - Funny how many of these guys were passing me on the straights but just parking in the corners on bikes that weigh 500 lbs less with 100 HP more - Good times
