Hey lets not crucify the guy just yet there are many reasons people ship or trailer bikes.

I myself will trailer a bike if traveling long distances with my wife. She rides also but can't do long distance like I like to do. So we trailer to our location, ride for a few days while out there and then load the bikes back up and reverse the process.

Also everyone in that group may not have enough vacation time or physical ability to make the trip. Or they may not have the confidence in their machine to make such a trip.

Obviously they want to go as a group so some must give and some must take in order to accommodate the whole groups needs.

I applaud the OP for being able to laugh at themselves and allowing others to enjoy the comedy with his photos. Also for not giving into the HD B.S. that if you don't ride a HD then you don't ride and not associate with anyone else. Those people just burn my butt.

I, like many here rode metric for more years than HD and don't let anyone kid you, they are or can be every bit as good if not a better ride.

I hope you guys get nothing but good weather and have a great trip.

Now I gotta run to the store to buy some more loctite and spare consumable parts for the bike as I am getting ready for my trip.

Just rode home with one of my buddies, second time we have ridden and both of us agreed we would trailer next time, 2900 miles is fun in a couple days but is hell on the body. Plus our significant others won't ride so that's the only way they will come

Some of us have disc/lower back issues, and old injuries as well that will make us live in pain for 6 months after a 4,800 mile trip. I trailered in 2010 and still put 1,600 miles on the bike for the 2 weeks I was there-went to Cody, Wyoming, and Yellowstone, etc. I drove 30 hours in 2 days each way and was give out when I got back-can't imagine riding all those miles....I'm 58, maybe if I was younger and not so banged up after working construction 31 years.
