Ok I give up, another ign switch question!

So I carefully removed the key switch in the fork lock position because I was starting to remove the forks to install my Patriot spring kit. Of course the forks locked when happened to move the forks hard over. I tried to reinstall the switch and had a hell of a time key was jamming up, so a little 3in 1 oil did wonders!
Anyway I called my Indy he stated that the switch should be removed in the accessory position! So I tried this and it came out and I could swing the bars hard over with out locking the forks of course.
So question is what is the correct pos to remove the switch? Seems like every video shows it in the lock position when there removing it. Thanks!

It can be done with a large flat blade screw driver, what you do is get a flashlight and look down into the ignition hole you will see slots, stick the screwdriver in and try to line up all the slots together it is a pain in the ass but can be done, the alignment tool that rooster suggested, makes it a lot easier. If you're trying it with the flat blade screwdriver, you have to take your time and be patient with it, you'll eventually get it I know I spent 35 minutes or so trying to get it when I first took the ignition off for the first time without alignment tool. I now own an alignment tool because I got so pissed off on how long it took to get everything aligned with the flat blade screwdriver, just be patient take a deep breath and you'll get it........good luck
