Opinions Please--2006 RG

First, thanks in advance for the help and opinions.

I'm currently on my third HD bike ('09 vrod). I've got my eye on whats looks like a great 2006 RG.

Previous owner spent a TON of money on accessories...california kid flame paint set, detachable tour pak, back rest, heated grips/seat and chrome on top of chrome. Bike has 17k miles on it. Unfortunately, bad economy has forced a sale. Based on KBB price is just a little over KBB trade in value ~ $12k.

Does this seem like the good deal I'm trying to convince myself it is? lol

Any issues or concerns with 2006 models?

$12K doesn't sound bad for it. I would also let the seat of my pants help with the decision. It having 17k miles, you need to feel out the guy who put the miles on it if you can. Try to determine if they were hard miles or pretty easy miles. If you can ride it and just like if you were buying a used car you can tell by the little things such as rattles, noises, etc. if it was well taken care of. If in top notch shape I think $12k is good, if not like new condition I would push them on the price a little or keep looking for one that feel closer to new. $ is only an issue when you first get it, the quality is what will remain after the purchase. Just my .02
