So I'm starting the winter build and I'm going to order a king T/P. I thought chopped but I can't pass up the taller space of the king.

I need advice from those with T/Ps on what I should and shouldn't buy accessory-wise. I'd like to buy this at once, not have to keep adding to it.

I know that I want a luggage rack on top and I'll most likely light it. I doubt I'll buy the wrapped light bar though because my plan is to switch my rear to CVO. Premium latches in black. Antennas aren't a concern as we listen to music on my phone and there's no cb.

Thoughts?

I agree with King, space is nice. Luggage rack on top is also great to have. Are you going with the quick detach or just going to keep it permanently mounted?

I'd recommend one of the bigger racks for the top. I have a small rack on my chopped TPand it's hard to strap a bag on without rubbing the paint. Also recommend speaker pods even if you don't put speakers in them, just to make the king TP look complete.

I dont know. We discussed this too. I have the sissy bar and airwing lighted rack and I haven't taken these off since I installed em. Do you think I should still get the quick detach anyway or just hard wire it? The only reason I can think of to remove it would be cleaning. I ride to work when I can so I bring a duffle bag(lunch/papers/etc) that needs to be out of the weather.

I was looking at the air wing rack so I can add lights to it.

I have given thoughts to the speaker pods but I don't know how those will look with a chopped style backrest. We are on the fence about the size because she is 6' and doesn't like being pushed to far forward.

Does the interior light work all that well to buy it? What about the USB plugin? Do these come carpeted or is that extra?

you sound like you have a good plan. on the mounting rack, there are 2 sets of mounting holes to give you a little adjustabililty. if they aren't enough, there is enough room to drill a couple more, if that still isn't enough, then you can look at tourpak relocators. the george anderson product is awesome.

for the light, i would pass on that. i bought an led light bar from the grocery store for $6.00. has 5 leds on it, sticks to the lid, is push button activated, and you can adjust it to shine where you want it to.

If you don't think you're going to take it off other than to clean, then I say get a fixed. I believe it will save you quite a bit of money. I mean, do you take your passenger seat off to clean? I know I don't. Dont think I'd take a tour pak off either.

I agree, the king tour pak does look odd with out speakers

I have a quick detach. I only ride with it on during road trips, cold season, or if its going to be a longer ride with the g/f. I typically ride with a solo seat so the quick detach is great for me. That being said, when my tour pak is on, it rattles like a mother every time I hit a bump, I assume because its quick detach and not very rigid. Doesn't bother me too much though.

Detach king on FLTRX with rack lower side lite (led) and Hogtune speaker pods. No issues attaching rack bag have medium Tbag that add space for all needed on a road trip. ImageUploadedByMotorcycle1389560704.780017.jpg ImageUploadedByMotorcycle1389560730.030601.jpg

I have a RGU but added the detach kit and the kuryakyn adjuster from DCP for under 200 buck so I can adjust 3 inches back or 1 inch forward from stock. I like having the detach kit because I take mine off all the time. I added the large rack on top it's sure nice to strap a bag on top for sure ImageUploadedByMotorcycle1389562960.675816.jpg

Like scratch says, don't bother with HD $ to get an interior light. An el'cheapo battery-powered LED light and some velcro works great and is multi-purpose.

Are those side lights run only or do they flash for turn signals? Is there a smoked lense option?

Thanks for the pic, the air wing with led light looks good. Does it act like a brake/run light?

Side lights are run only as already posted. However, Ride Time Technology makes a module to make them into run/turn.

You can smoke them yourself with a can of VTS Nightshades found at just about any autoparts store.

You say new style, as in the ones made for the 2014 models?
if so is there any modification needed and what was it?

Thanks for that info OBB. I definitely want the side lights as blinkers if I can. Is it a plug in module to the existing harness or do I need to pull off and splice into my current wires?

Love the look of the air wing! Ride Time Technology went out of business, so unless you can find on the Bay, that route's a bust. I'm also looking at a way to turn the side running lights into turn and brake. Plan on talking to Custom Dynamics on this one. I'll let you know what I find out

Ray, if you are not getting speaker pods, you may want to think about a chopped pad so you won't have the seat arms chasing you when riding solo. You've seen mine so that's the look.

Go to their web site... No longer in business. Was searching options other than CD about a week, ten days ago and came across the name. Go to the site and got a message saying no longer in business but will take care of any warranty issues by email
