I have a 06 Road Glide, Red Pearl w/ black stripe. I am getting ready to paint the inner fairing and was leaning towards two tone instead of solid red. Maybe do red every where except around the gauges and radio and painting that area black. If any one has any pictures of anything similar or different ideas for the inner fairing I would appreciate the information. Doesn’t have to be the same colors just looking for ideas cause I darn sure only want to do this once.

Here is a one that I have seen before that I thought looked really good. It is off of someone from the V-Twin Forum.

Thanks for the picture and info Atrain. I actually have this picture and was going off of it to paint my inner. If I don’t find or see something else that I like better in the next two days that is what I am going with. I think I will go with red around the speedo, tach, switches and fork covers though and just do vivid black around the gauges and radio on the dash. Again, thank you for the input and picture. Anyone else got anything?

Hey ktm_scott, Im in Irving( valley ranch) whats he charge? I would like to have mine painted also.:)
Depends on what ll you want painted. I want all of the plastic painted, like the CVO models have. If you take the fairing to him, it was like $300. Give Tex a call. He's a straight up guy. Very friendly. I've seen his work and it's top notch. TexEFX.com

Painted inner fairing options

ATrain,I agree. That looks very cool. I'm going to have to look this next week during AZ bike week. If I see some different ones I'll take some pics and put them up here.

Thanks for all the information guys. I took my fairing off two days ago and my painter just finished it today. It looks awesome. He is one of the best painters/body guys that I have ever seen. I went with the two tone Red Pearl and Vivid Black. I went off of the picture that Atrain posted but I only painted around the gauges and radio black. I painted the speedometer, tachometer, fork caps and around the switches Pearl Red. I think it is going to look great. Once I get it back together next week I will post some pics and see what you all think. Once again, thanks and ride safe.

Another thing you can do is leave the compartment doors unpainted. Yeah, I know you might think it would look bad, but it doesn't. My bike is silver with a silver inner and black compartment doors. The black doors match up with the speakers and other black components.

here's my paint for comparison...

here's the before...

and here's the after...

I also had the chrome dash painted as you can see at a cost of 120 bones (something to do with painting over chrome) PLUS the lowers painted on the inside as well as the SE headlight bezel. The HD black pearl the painter applied came out awesome even though the picture doesn't show it off that well, it does look better than the factory paint. Maybe sun fade has that effect.

All in all for $600 I'm happy with the results and as I say it is the HD factory paint so the pearl effect is perfect in the sun.
