There is a 3-M stripe eraser rubber wheel that you put on your cordless drill that removes the stripe with out harming the paint underneath, sand thru the clear on the stripe first and when all the vinyl is removed feather out the area and the rest of the tank, prime prep and paint.
I'm going to be replacing my tank emblems on my barracuda silver denim paint. I know how to remove the emblem. But what about the residue left behind from stock emblem?
Goo be gone? WD40? I've heard a few things. Just don't want to mess up the paint.

Figured the plasti-dip served its life after several seasons. I do recommend it, but after having trailered the bike last year, the tie downs left some unfavorable looking marks on the dipped fork.
So crash bar, front turn signals and forks are being powder coated, and figured since the forks...
What gives? Out of all of the bikes I’ve owned over the years. New and old. I cant keep the dust off of this paint, its like its statically charged. Even my California duster just pushes the dust around and wont lift it. I’m fearing the god awful swirl marks from the dust scratching it. Anyone...
Spent the weekend masking and painting the details. Need to wet sand again, touch up some orange and silver spots, re-clear, then wet sand and buff. Slow going with my day job and children consuming most of my weekdays/nights, but a couple of more weekends and she’ll be ready to go back together.
